TVS RTR 125 LC Unveiled at EICMA 2026 With 14.9 PS Engine and Six-Speed Gearbox
TVS Motor Company has unveiled its new RTR 125 LC motorcycle at the EICMA 2026 exhibition in Milan, Italy. The new 125cc motorcycle features a liquid-cooled engine, sporty streetfighter styling and a range of premium equipment. With its six-speed gearbox, inverted front forks and advanced electronic features, the RTR 125 LC is positioned as a performance-focused motorcycle for European markets.
The motorcycle is powered by a 125cc, liquid-cooled, four-valve, single-cylinder engine that produces 14.9 PS of maximum power at 9,000 rpm and 12 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and an assist and slipper clutch.
Other major highlights include KYB inverted front forks, dual-channel ABS, multiple riding modes and a five-inch TFT instrument display. The motorcycle also supports smartphone connectivity and map mirroring.
TVS has not yet announced the motorcycle's price or confirmed its launch in India.
TVS RTR 125 LC Engine and Performance
The engine is one of the main highlights of the new TVS RTR 125 LC. It uses a 125cc, liquid-cooled, four-valve DOHC configuration designed to deliver performance suitable for city riding and longer journeys.
The engine generates 14.9 PS at 9,000 rpm and 12 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. These figures place the motorcycle among the more performance-oriented offerings in the European 125cc category.
The engine is connected to a six-speed transmission, allowing riders to make use of different gear ratios across varying riding conditions. It also gets a multiplate assist and slipper clutch. The assist function is designed to reduce clutch operating effort, while the slipper mechanism helps manage rear-wheel behaviour during aggressive downshifts.
The combination of liquid cooling, a six-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch gives the RTR 125 LC a more premium mechanical package than a conventional commuter motorcycle.
Sporty Streetfighter Design
The TVS RTR 125 LC follows a naked streetfighter design with sharp body panels and an aggressive front profile. Its styling includes angular tank extensions, a compact front section and an exposed trellis frame.
The front features a rectangular LED projector headlamp with distinctive daytime running lights. The rear gets a split LED tail-lamp design that adds to the motorcycle's sporty appearance.
The motorcycle also features a small windscreen and a split-seat arrangement. Its overall design is intended to appeal to younger riders and those looking for a sporty 125cc motorcycle.
The exposed frame and sculpted bodywork give the RTR 125 LC a distinctive appearance within its engine category. The motorcycle is designed to balance everyday usability with the styling associated with larger performance-oriented models.
KYB USD Forks and Suspension Setup
TVS has equipped the RTR 125 LC with premium suspension hardware for its segment. The front suspension uses 41mm KYB upside-down forks, while the rear gets an adjustable monoshock.
The motorcycle is built around a tubular trellis frame paired with a cast swingarm. This combination is intended to provide a balance between structural strength and handling performance.
The inverted front forks are a notable feature because they are more commonly associated with sportier and higher-capacity motorcycles. Their inclusion gives the RTR 125 LC a more premium hardware package.
The motorcycle rides on 17-inch alloy wheels. It uses a 100/80-17 front tyre and a wider 140/70-R17 rear tyre.
Braking System and Safety Features
The braking setup includes disc brakes at both ends with ByBre components. The front gets a 300mm disc, while the rear uses a 240mm disc.
Dual-channel ABS is provided as standard equipment. The system is designed to help prevent wheel lock-up during hard braking by regulating brake pressure at both wheels.
The motorcycle also gets switchable ABS functionality, according to the specifications reported at its unveiling. This gives riders additional control depending on the riding conditions and selected settings.
The combination of disc brakes, dual-channel ABS and premium suspension hardware makes safety equipment an important part of the RTR 125 LC package.
Five-Inch TFT Display and Connectivity
Technology is another major highlight of the new TVS motorcycle. The RTR 125 LC features a five-inch colour TFT instrument display that provides riding information in a modern digital format.
The display supports Bluetooth connectivity and smartphone integration. It also offers full-screen map mirroring and turn-by-turn navigation, allowing riders to access route information through the instrument console.
The motorcycle also comes with multiple riding modes that allow riders to select different settings according to their preferences and riding conditions.
Additional equipment includes a hazard warning light and connected features intended to improve everyday convenience. These additions make the RTR 125 LC more technology-focused than a basic entry-level 125cc motorcycle.
Developed for European 125cc Motorcycle Buyers
The TVS RTR 125 LC is primarily aimed at European markets, particularly riders covered by the A1 motorcycle licence category. This category permits motorcycles with an engine capacity of up to 125cc, subject to additional power and power-to-weight restrictions.
The new model gives TVS an opportunity to strengthen its presence in the European entry-level performance motorcycle segment. Its combination of liquid cooling, a six-speed transmission, USD forks and connected technology is intended to attract buyers looking for more than basic commuter features.
The motorcycle is expected to compete in a market where premium 125cc motorcycles offer sporty styling and advanced equipment despite their smaller engine capacity.
TVS RTR 125 LC India Launch and Price
Indian motorcycle enthusiasts may be interested in the possibility of the RTR 125 LC entering the domestic market. However, TVS Motor Company has not officially confirmed an India launch date or price.
The motorcycle was showcased in European specification at EICMA 2026. Its availability in India will depend on the company's product strategy and market plans.
If introduced in India, the RTR 125 LC could occupy a different position from conventional 125cc commuter motorcycles because of its liquid-cooled engine, premium suspension, dual-channel ABS and TFT display.
Its final pricing would also be an important factor in determining its position in the Indian market. However, any expected price or launch timeline would be speculative until TVS makes an official announcement.
What Makes the TVS RTR 125 LC Stand Out?
The new RTR 125 LC combines a 125cc liquid-cooled engine with performance-oriented mechanical components and modern technology. Its six-speed gearbox, assist and slipper clutch, KYB inverted forks and dual-channel ABS distinguish it from conventional entry-level motorcycles.
The five-inch TFT display, smartphone connectivity and map mirroring add further convenience for riders who expect connected features in their motorcycles.
The EICMA 2026 unveiling marks an important addition to TVS's international motorcycle portfolio. While the company has not confirmed its Indian availability, the RTR 125 LC is a notable new entry in the European 125cc performance motorcycle category.
Further information about pricing, market availability and final specifications is expected closer to its commercial launch.
