2026 Toyota Glanza Facelift Launched in India
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched the updated Toyota Glanza premium hatchback in India on October 14, 2026. The facelifted model starts at Rs 6.99 lakh ex showroom and brings changes to the exterior design, engine, cabin equipment and safety features.
The updated Glanza is available in five variants: E, S, G, V and V (O). Prices range from Rs 6.99 lakh for the entry level E variant to Rs 10.49 lakh for the top V (O) version. Toyota has also announced a factory fitted CNG option and an automated manual transmission option for CNG variants.
The new model continues to compete in the premium hatchback segment against the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz. Here are five important highlights of the 2026 Toyota Glanza facelift.
1. Updated Exterior Styling
The 2026 Toyota Glanza receives a refreshed front design intended to give the hatchback a sharper and sportier appearance. The revised front fascia features a redesigned grille, updated bumper detailing and styling elements inspired by Toyota's wider design language.
The model also gets updated exterior details, including a shark fin antenna and new colour choices. Two new shades, Bluish Black and Digital Teal Green, join the existing colour options. The revised appearance aims to make the hatchback more distinctive while retaining its familiar overall proportions.
LED projector headlamps, daytime running lamps and LED rear combination lamps contribute to the car's modern appearance. Other exterior features include chrome door handles and a rear window wiper.
The changes are focused on improving the vehicle's visual appeal rather than introducing a completely new body design. Buyers considering the facelift should compare the available colours and variant specific equipment before making a decision.
2. New 1.2 Litre Petrol Engine
One of the biggest changes is the introduction of a new 1.2 litre, three cylinder Z12E petrol engine. The naturally aspirated engine produces approximately 83 hp and 112.4 Nm of torque in petrol mode.
The engine replaces the previous model's four cylinder petrol unit. Although the new engine has slightly lower power output, Toyota states that the updated powertrain is designed to improve fuel efficiency and everyday drivability.
Petrol variants are offered with a five speed manual gearbox or a five speed automated manual transmission, depending on the variant. The new engine is intended to provide practical performance for daily commuting, urban traffic and regular highway journeys.
Toyota has announced claimed fuel efficiency figures of 23.80 km per litre for the manual version and 24.77 km per litre for the AMT version. These are manufacturer figures and actual mileage may vary according to traffic, driving style, road conditions, vehicle load and maintenance.
Buyers should compare the transmission options based on their driving requirements. The manual gearbox may suit those who prefer greater control, while the AMT option can offer additional convenience in stop and go traffic.
3. Ventilated Seats and Improved Cabin Convenience
The updated Glanza adds several comfort and convenience features. One of the major additions is ventilated front seats, designed to improve comfort in hot weather by circulating air through the seating surface.
The car also offers wireless smartphone charging with a cooling arrangement, a feature designed to make charging more convenient during daily use. Other equipment includes a head up display, automatic climate control, rear air conditioning vents and a leather wrapped steering wheel.
The cabin retains a practical layout, with features such as steering mounted controls, keyless entry and push button start available according to variant. The 60:40 split rear seat arrangement offers flexibility when carrying passengers and luggage.
Toyota has also included a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Its connected car system supports selected remote vehicle functions and vehicle information, subject to the equipment and services available.
Not every feature is necessarily available on every variant. Buyers should check the official specification list and confirm the equipment included in their preferred version before booking.
4. Level 2 ADAS and Additional Safety Equipment
Safety is another key highlight of the 2026 Toyota Glanza facelift. The updated model introduces Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, commonly known as ADAS, with functions designed to assist the driver in certain driving situations.
The announced features include adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assistance, lane departure warning, lane departure prevention, autonomous emergency braking and high beam assist. The availability and operation of these systems depend on the vehicle's configuration and operating conditions.
The Glanza also includes six airbags, anti lock braking with electronic brakeforce distribution, vehicle stability control, hill hold control and ISOFIX child seat anchorages. Additional equipment includes a tyre pressure monitoring system, a 360 degree camera and rear parking sensors.
These features can support driver awareness and help with vehicle control, but they do not replace attentive driving. Drivers should remain alert and follow traffic rules even when assistance systems are active.
The introduction of additional driver assistance technology gives buyers another factor to consider when comparing the Glanza with other premium hatchbacks in the Indian market.
5. CNG Option, Variant Prices and Booking Details
The 2026 Toyota Glanza continues to offer a factory fitted CNG powertrain for buyers looking for an alternative to petrol. The CNG engine produces approximately 70 hp and 101.8 Nm of torque. Toyota has also introduced an AMT option for CNG variants, expanding the available choices for customers who prefer an automatic style transmission.
The announced petrol manual variant prices are as follows.
The E variant starts at Rs 6.99 lakh. The S variant starts at Rs 7.71 lakh. The G variant starts at Rs 8.73 lakh. The V variant starts at Rs 9.99 lakh. The top V (O) variant starts at Rs 10.49 lakh.
These are ex showroom prices. Registration charges, insurance and other applicable costs increase the final on road price. Prices for individual powertrain and transmission combinations should be confirmed with an authorised Toyota dealer.
Bookings opened on October 15, 2026, according to Toyota's announcement, with deliveries expected to begin in the first week of November 2026. Customers should confirm booking availability, delivery estimates and variant specific prices with their nearest dealership.
Should You Consider the New Toyota Glanza?
The 2026 Toyota Glanza facelift brings a combination of revised styling, a new petrol engine, additional comfort features and upgraded driver assistance technology. Its CNG option, including the new AMT choice, also expands the range of powertrain options available to buyers.
The car may appeal to customers looking for a premium hatchback for daily commuting and family use. However, the final choice should depend on the variant, expected mileage, transmission preference, safety equipment and overall ownership costs.
Before making a purchase, buyers should arrange a test drive, compare the Glanza with competing hatchbacks and request a complete on road quotation. They should also verify the latest specifications and availability of features with an authorised Toyota dealer.
