Hyundai Bayon Variant-Wise Features Ahead of India Launch
Hyundai Motor India is preparing to launch the new Bayon SUV on October 26, 2026. Ahead of the official price announcement, an unofficial leaked feature list has provided details about the expected variants, equipment and technology available across the range. According to reports, the SUV could be offered in seven trims: HX2, HX3, HX3+, HX5, HX6, HX8 and HX10.
The company has already confirmed several important specifications, including the 1.5-litre petrol engine, manual and automatic transmission options, connected-car technology and advanced driver assistance systems. However, the complete variant-wise equipment list circulating online has not been officially confirmed by Hyundai. Buyers should therefore treat the leaked details as provisional until the company publishes the final specifications.
Hyundai Bayon HX2: Expected Entry-Level Features
The HX2 is expected to serve as the entry-level variant of the Bayon range. According to the leaked information, it could feature 16-inch steel wheels with covers, LED projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights and LED tail lamps.
Inside, the base variant is reportedly expected to include a 4.2-inch TFT instrument display, manual air conditioning, rear AC vents and power windows. Electrically folding outside rear-view mirrors and a shark-fin antenna are also mentioned in the leaked list.
The entry-level trim may offer a relatively basic infotainment setup compared with the higher variants. However, Hyundai has confirmed that the Bayon will receive a comprehensive safety package, including six airbags and more than 35 standard safety features across the range. The exact distribution of comfort and infotainment features by variant remains subject to official confirmation.
HX3 and HX3+: Additional Convenience Features
The HX3 is expected to add a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a rear-view camera, a smart key and push-button engine start. The reported audio setup includes four speakers and two tweeters.
The HX3+ could bring additional exterior and convenience equipment, including an electric sunroof, bridge-style roof rails and 17-inch styled wheels. According to the leaked variant list, both HX3 and HX3+ are expected to be available with the six-speed manual transmission.
These variants could appeal to customers who want selected premium features without moving to the higher-priced versions. Nevertheless, the final feature combinations and availability of individual options will be confirmed by Hyundai at launch.
HX5: Connected Technology and Automatic Transmission
The HX5 is expected to introduce a wider range of technology and convenience features. The leaked list mentions Hyundai Bluelink connectivity with more than 70 connected features, over-the-air software updates, a wireless phone charger and cruise control.
Other reported additions include automatic climate control, automatic headlamps, a rear defogger and electrically folding mirrors. The HX5 is also expected to mark the entry point for the iVT automatic transmission.
The automatic version is reportedly set to include paddle shifters, selectable Eco, Normal and Sport driving modes, Dash Boost Mode and Sporty Drive Tech. Hyundai says these technologies are designed to improve responsiveness and provide a more engaging driving experience, particularly during acceleration and overtaking.
HX6: More Comfort and Exterior Equipment
The HX6 is expected to add more premium equipment to the Bayon. According to the leaked details, the variant could receive a panoramic sunroof, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, dual LED projector headlamps and ambient lighting.
Additional features reportedly include puddle lamps, a sliding front armrest, a rear washer and wiper, a luggage compartment lamp and leatherette trim on selected cabin components.
These additions are expected to make the HX6 a more comfort-focused option for buyers who want a more premium interior and additional exterior styling features. The final equipment list will determine how it compares with the variants positioned above and below it.
HX8: Premium Cabin and Driver Convenience
The HX8 is expected to bring several comfort and convenience upgrades. The leaked list includes ventilated front seats, leatherette seat upholstery, an eight-way powered driver's seat and a dashcam.
The variant could also receive front and side parking sensors, rear disc brakes, rear height-adjustable headrests, a rear armrest and a 60:40 split-folding rear seat. An electronic parking brake is reportedly planned for the HX8 iVT version.
If these features are confirmed, the HX8 could appeal to buyers who prioritise cabin comfort and parking assistance. However, these variant-specific details remain unofficial until Hyundai releases its final specification sheet.
HX10: Expected Flagship Variant
The HX10 is expected to sit at the top of the Bayon range, bringing together the model's most advanced technology and convenience equipment.
According to the leaked information, the flagship variant could feature dual curved 12.3-inch displays, an eight-speaker Bose audio system, a 360-degree camera, a blind-view monitor and an electrochromic rear-view mirror.
Hyundai has separately confirmed that the Bayon will feature a generative AI voice assistant incorporating intelligence from Perplexity and voice AI powered by SoundHound AI. The company has also announced an NVIDIA-accelerated Connected Car Navigation Cockpit, over-the-air updates for supported vehicle controllers and more than 70 Bluelink connected features.
The SUV is also set to offer Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 Pro ADAS with 23 driver-assistance functions. These systems are designed to support the driver through features such as collision warnings, lane assistance and selected parking and reversing aids. Drivers must remain attentive and in control of the vehicle, even when these technologies are active. The exact availability of individual features across variants should be verified after the official launch.
Engine, Transmission and Expected Price
Hyundai has confirmed a four-cylinder, 1.5-litre MPi petrol engine for the India-spec Bayon. It produces 115 PS of maximum power and 143.8 Nm of torque. Customers will be able to choose between a six-speed manual gearbox and an Intelligent Variable Transmission, or iVT automatic.
The iVT version is designed to offer smooth operation in everyday driving, while features such as paddle shifters and selectable drive modes are intended to provide additional driver control. Hyundai has also highlighted Dash Boost Mode and Sporty Drive Tech for enhanced responsiveness in the automatic version.
The official prices are expected to be announced on October 26, 2026. Some media reports have suggested an indicative starting price of around Rs 9.5 lakh, with the top variant potentially reaching around Rs 17 lakh. These are estimates, not confirmed prices, and the final figures may differ.
Pre-bookings have opened through Hyundai dealerships and the company's official website, with a reported booking amount of Rs 11,000. Delivery schedules are expected to be communicated at launch.
What Buyers Should Know
The Hyundai Bayon is expected to offer a broad range of features across its seven reported trims, from basic convenience equipment in the lower variants to premium cabin technology and advanced driver assistance features in the flagship version.
The leaked variant list gives prospective buyers an early indication of what may be available, but it should not be treated as Hyundai's final specification sheet. Official prices, feature availability and variant combinations will be clearer after the October 26 launch.
For customers considering the Bayon, the most important factors will be the final price, the features offered in each trim, the choice of transmission and the availability of safety technology. Comparing the official specifications after launch will help buyers choose the variant that best suits their budget and requirements.
