Tata Motors is preparing to launch its new compact sedan, the Tata Aeris, in India on September 25, 2026. Ahead of the official launch, the company has released a fresh teaser that gives a detailed look at the dashboard and several cabin features of the upcoming model.
The latest teaser provides the clearest indication yet of what customers can expect inside the Tata Aeris. The dashboard layout appears to share several design elements with the recently updated Tata Tiago. This includes a fabric inspired dashboard finish and Tata Motors' latest two spoke steering wheel design. The overall cabin appears to use a lighter beige and grey colour combination, giving the interior a different appearance from the more contrasting cabin design seen in the Tiago.
One of the most prominent elements shown in the teaser is the large central touchscreen infotainment system. Reports indicate that the unit could measure around 10.24 or 10.25 inches. It is positioned prominently on top of the dashboard and is paired with a fully digital instrument cluster. The dual screen arrangement is expected to give the Aeris a more modern cabin compared with the outgoing Tata Tigor.
The teaser also provides a look at the wireless charging area. The charging tray appears large enough to accommodate two smartphones side by side. This feature is expected to improve convenience for passengers who regularly use their smartphones while travelling.
Several other comfort and convenience features have also been revealed or are expected based on the latest teaser. These include automatic climate control, cruise control, a 360 degree camera and additional storage space around the centre console. The Aeris is also expected to receive a start stop button, electrically adjustable and foldable outside rear view mirrors, rear AC vents and Type C USB charging ports. The new dashboard is not the only major update planned for the Aeris. Earlier teasers have shown several exterior changes compared with the Tata Tigor. The upcoming sedan is expected to feature slimmer LED headlamps, revised daytime running lights, new tail lamps and redesigned alloy wheels. The front bumper is also expected to receive a revised design.
The Aeris is essentially a heavily updated version of the Tata Tigor and is expected to carry a similar compact sedan format. The new model is intended to give Tata Motors a refreshed offering in the sub four metre sedan segment. A CNG version with an AMT transmission is also expected. The final engine specifications and transmission combinations will be confirmed by Tata Motors during the official launch.
The Aeris is also expected to be available with an electric powertrain. Autocar India reports that Tata Motors is preparing both internal combustion engine and fully electric versions of the Aeris for the September 25 launch. Details such as the battery capacity, range, charging capability and performance figures of the electric version are expected to be confirmed by the company at the launch event.
The cabin technology will be one of the major highlights of the new sedan. The digital instrument cluster and large touchscreen infotainment system are expected to give the Aeris a more contemporary dashboard layout.
