Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has officially launched the new Honda QC3 electric scooter in the Indian market, expanding the company’s electric vehicle portfolio. The new model has been introduced at an ex showroom price of Rs 1.35 lakh in New Delhi and is positioned as a family focused electric scooter for everyday urban travel.
The Honda QC3 is initially being introduced in five cities. Customers in Delhi, Agra, Cuttack, Surat and Kollam can book the electric scooter through select Honda RedWing dealerships. Bookings have opened with a booking amount of Rs 5,000. Honda has not yet announced a specific delivery date, while the company plans to expand availability in phases.
One of the main highlights of the Honda QC3 is its battery and claimed riding range. The electric scooter is equipped with a 3 kWh fixed battery pack. Honda currently lists a certified IDC range of 145 km on a full charge. The production version therefore has a slightly lower certified range than the 151 km figure Honda had mentioned when it first unveiled the QC3 in July 2026.
The charging system is designed for regular urban use. Honda says the battery can be charged from zero to 80 percent in approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes. A complete charge takes around four hours. The scooter uses a fixed battery rather than the swappable battery system used by Honda on the Activa e. This gives the QC3 a different charging approach within Honda’s existing electric scooter range.
Practicality is another major focus of the Honda QC3. The scooter comes with 32 litres of under seat storage, providing space for everyday items and luggage. This storage capacity is particularly relevant for family users who may use the scooter for commuting, shopping and other daily activities.
The QC3 also comes with a 5 inch TFT instrument display. The display supports Honda RoadSync connectivity and provides features including turn by turn navigation. The connected system is designed to provide smartphone related functions while riding. Depending on the connected setup, users can access functions such as call and message alerts and other connected information.
Honda has also equipped the QC3 with a Smart Key system. The scooter features LED lighting and a family oriented design with a broad front section, flat floorboard and long seat. The overall design is focused on everyday comfort and practicality rather than sporty performance.
The electric scooter rides on 12 inch alloy wheels. Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers. Braking hardware includes a front disc and rear drum arrangement with Combined Braking System. These specifications are intended to support regular city riding and everyday commuting.
The Honda QC3 is available in four colour options. These include Matt Photon Gray Metallic, Pearl Precious White, Pearl Shallow Blue and Pearl Siren Blue. The colour choices are designed to complement the scooter’s family oriented positioning.
The new model becomes Honda’s third electric scooter offering in India after the QC1 and Activa e. The QC3 sits above the QC1 in terms of battery capacity and claimed range. It also offers more under seat storage and a larger TFT display with connected functions. The Activa e follows a different approach because it uses a battery swapping system.
The launch places the Honda QC3 in an increasingly competitive electric scooter market in India. It will compete in a segment that includes models such as the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak and Ather Rizta. These products offer customers different combinations of battery capacity, range, features, pricing and practicality. The QC3’s 145 km IDC range, 32 litre storage and connected technology are among the specifications Honda is highlighting for the new model.
Honda’s entry into the electric scooter segment has so far included different approaches to battery technology and product positioning. The QC3 represents a move towards a conventional family scooter format with a fixed battery, practical storage and connected features.
The company had earlier announced a wider Made in India portfolio covering multiple vehicle categories, including electric mobility. Honda described the QC3 as a smart commuter focused electric vehicle intended for families and daily riders. The company’s July announcement listed a 3 kWh battery, 32 litre under seat storage and connected technology as key features.
With the official launch now complete, the next important stage will be the rollout of the QC3 beyond the initial five cities. Honda has confirmed that the first phase covers Delhi, Agra, Cuttack, Surat and Kollam, while wider availability is expected to follow in a phased manner. The company has not yet provided complete details about the timeline for the nationwide rollout.
For buyers, the Honda QC3 offers a combination of a 3 kWh battery, 145 km certified IDC range, approximately four hour full charging time, 32 litre storage and connected technology. Its Rs 1.35 lakh ex showroom price puts it directly into a competitive part of India’s electric scooter market.
The final choice for customers will depend on factors such as actual riding range, charging access, storage requirements, features, service availability and the price difference between competing electric scooters. The IDC range is a certified test figure and real world range can vary depending on riding conditions, traffic, speed, load and other factors.
The Honda QC3 therefore marks an important addition to Honda’s electric scooter lineup in India. With its initial five city rollout, family focused design and 145 km certified range, the model is aimed at customers looking for an electric scooter for regular urban and family use.
