Addressing Japanese business leaders and policymakers, Modi said that India has become one of the most attractive destinations for investment and innovation, making it a global growth engine.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on his official visit to Tokyo, underscored the growing synergy between India and Japan, calling their collaboration a “perfect partnership” built on trust, shared values, and economic opportunities. Addressing Japanese business leaders and policymakers, Modi said that India has become one of the most attractive destinations for investment and innovation, making it a global growth engine.

Modi stressed that India’s unique advantage lies in its ability to multiply capital and create value for investors. He noted that over the past decade, India has successfully transformed its investment climate by simplifying regulations, enhancing infrastructure, and creating a digital economy that connects millions. “In India, capital does not just grow; it multiplies. This is the strength that investors will find when they engage with India,” he said.

The Prime Minister highlighted the success of previous India-Japan collaborations, including high-speed rail projects, automobile manufacturing partnerships, and advances in renewable energy. He urged Japanese companies to explore new areas such as semiconductors, electric vehicles, green hydrogen, and artificial intelligence, all of which align with India’s vision for sustainable and inclusive growth.

Japan has long been a key economic partner for India, being one of the largest sources of foreign direct investment. Modi acknowledged Japan’s support in infrastructure development, particularly in urban transport systems, smart cities, and clean energy initiatives. He emphasized that the next phase of the partnership should not only focus on trade and investment but also on co-creation of technologies that can address global challenges.

The Prime Minister also spoke about India’s young demographic profile, noting that the nation has one of the largest skilled workforces in the world. This, he said, gives India an unmatched advantage in areas like manufacturing, research, and digital services. By combining India’s demographic dividend with Japan’s technological expertise, Modi said, both countries could play a decisive role in shaping the global economy.

He further pointed out that India’s growth trajectory has remained resilient despite global uncertainties, making it a reliable partner for long-term investments. India’s stable political environment, reform-driven policies, and commitment to sustainability, he said, provide the right framework for Japanese investors to expand their footprint in Asia.

In addition to economics, Modi touched upon cultural ties and strategic cooperation between the two countries. He stated that India and Japan share civilizational values rooted in democracy, peace, and mutual respect, which form the foundation of their enduring friendship.

Concluding his address, Modi assured Japanese investors that India is committed to providing all possible support for their ventures. “This is not just an economic partnership, it is a relationship of trust, tradition, and technology. Together, India and Japan can create a new chapter of growth and prosperity for the world,” he said.

With his Tokyo visit, Prime Minister Modi has signaled a renewed momentum in India-Japan ties, setting the stage for deeper collaboration across multiple sectors and reaffirming India’s role as a hub of global investment.
