Analysts said that silver’s recent volatility has been influenced by multiple factors, including changes in interest rate expectations, movements in the US dollar, and strong industrial demand.

Silver prices showed a strong recovery on December 30, 2025, regaining some of the losses recorded in the previous session. The rebound was driven by stabilising global market sentiment after sharp selling pressure triggered by profit booking. Over the past year, silver has delivered significant returns, prompting traders to lock in gains, which resulted in heightened volatility.

In the Indian market, silver prices climbed nearly four percent in both spot and futures trading. This recovery reflects renewed demand from investors who viewed the recent dip as a buying opportunity. Domestic prices were also supported by positive cues from international markets, where silver rebounded sharply after Monday’s steep decline.

On the global front, silver prices on the COMEX rose by approximately five percent, trading around 73.995 dollars per ounce. The bounce helped restore confidence among traders, although prices remained well below the record peak of 84 dollars per ounce touched in the previous session. Market participants noted that the sharp swings highlight the fragile balance between strong long-term fundamentals and short-term speculative activity.

Analysts said that silver’s recent volatility has been influenced by multiple factors, including changes in interest rate expectations, movements in the US dollar, and strong industrial demand. Silver’s dual role as both a precious and industrial metal has added to price fluctuations, especially amid uncertainty surrounding global economic growth and manufacturing trends.

In India, silver rates across major metro cities reflected the broader recovery. Prices in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, and other urban centres moved higher, offering some relief to traders and investors after the sudden correction. Jewellers and industrial users were seen returning to the market, though many remained cautious due to ongoing price swings.

Despite the rebound, experts caution that volatility is likely to persist in the near term. Elevated prices, coupled with profit-taking behaviour, could continue to trigger sharp intraday movements. However, the long-term outlook for silver remains constructive, supported by demand from sectors such as renewable energy, electronics, and electric vehicles.

Market watchers are closely tracking upcoming global economic data and central bank signals, which could influence precious metal prices further. Any shift in monetary policy expectations or changes in geopolitical conditions may add to short-term price movements.

Overall, silver’s recovery on December 30 underscores the metal’s resilience amid turbulent trading conditions. While the recent correction served as a reminder of the risks involved, the bounce suggests that investor interest in silver remains strong, particularly at lower price levels.
