As per data available with the Securities and Exchange Board of India, around 84 companies have already received approval to raise approximately Rs 1.14 lakh crore through initial public offerings.

India’s capital markets are preparing for an active and potentially record-setting year in 2026, with a large pipeline of companies planning to go public. Regulatory data indicates that the country’s primary market could witness one of its busiest phases, driven by marquee listings across sectors such as telecom, fintech, consumer internet, and financial services.

As per data available with the Securities and Exchange Board of India, around 84 companies have already received approval to raise approximately Rs 1.14 lakh crore through initial public offerings. In addition, about 108 more companies have filed draft papers and are awaiting regulatory clearance to raise an estimated Rs 1.46 lakh crore. This places the total potential fundraising pipeline at over Rs 2.5 lakh crore, signalling strong confidence among corporates and investors alike.

Among the most anticipated listings in 2026 is Reliance Jio, the telecom arm of Reliance Industries. The proposed IPO is expected to be one of the largest in India’s history, given the company’s scale, subscriber base, and role in the country’s digital transformation. Market participants believe the listing could set benchmarks for valuation and liquidity in the telecom sector.

Hospitality and travel technology firm OYO is also expected to make another attempt at listing after delaying its plans earlier due to market volatility. The company has undertaken restructuring and cost optimisation measures in recent years, which analysts say could improve its appeal to public market investors.

Fintech major PhonePe is another closely watched name on the IPO calendar. With a dominant position in digital payments and a rapidly expanding product portfolio, the company is expected to attract strong interest from both domestic and global investors. Its listing would further highlight the growing maturity of India’s fintech ecosystem.

Apart from these high-profile names, several companies from sectors such as renewable energy, manufacturing, healthcare, and financial services are also expected to tap the markets. Analysts note that the diversity of sectors reflects the broad-based growth of the Indian economy and increasing appetite for equity investments.

However, experts caution that market conditions, global economic trends, interest rates, and geopolitical developments will play a key role in determining the timing and success of these IPOs. While investor sentiment remains positive, valuations and post-listing performance will depend on earnings visibility and corporate governance standards.

Overall, the IPO pipeline for 2026 points to a significant phase for India’s capital markets. If market conditions remain favourable, the coming year could see strong fundraising activity and increased participation from retail and institutional investors, reinforcing India’s position as a key destination for equity capital.
