The recent release of India’s Q2FY25 GDP data has reinforced optimism about the country’s economic growth, with GDP growth surpassing estimates, driven by strong performance in manufacturing, services, and agriculture sectors.

The Indian stock market begins the week with a cautious tone as investors analyze domestic and global cues influencing market trends. The recent release of India’s Q2FY25 GDP data has reinforced optimism about the country’s economic growth, with GDP growth surpassing estimates, driven by strong performance in manufacturing, services, and agriculture sectors. However, despite this positive backdrop, market sentiment remains subdued due to mixed global cues, concerns about crude oil price fluctuations, and ongoing uncertainty surrounding the US Federal Reserve’s interest rate policies.

For the Nifty 50, technical indicators suggest a range-bound movement with resistance seen in the 19,850-19,900 zone and support levels around 19,500-19,550. Breaking through the resistance could signal a bullish breakout, encouraging fresh buying, while falling below the support range could lead to further downside. The index's ability to sustain above its key moving averages will play a pivotal role in determining market direction.

The India VIX, a key indicator of market volatility, has seen an uptick, reflecting heightened uncertainty among traders. With volatility expected to persist, market participants are advised to approach trades cautiously, focusing on risk management and staying updated on key developments domestically and globally.

In stock-specific action, Reliance Industries continues to trade near its support levels and may witness buying momentum if it breaks above ₹2,550. HDFC Bank remains in consolidation, with ₹1,640 being a key resistance to watch for potential upward movement. Tata Motors has seen profit booking recently, with ₹680 as an important support level to monitor. Infosys, under pressure due to global recession concerns, has critical levels at ₹1,350 for support and ₹1,400 for resistance. Adani Ports has shown relative strength, and a breakout above ₹870 could lead to further gains, while ₹830 serves as a robust support.

Global factors, including movements in crude oil prices and signals from the US Federal Reserve regarding interest rate policy, will be closely monitored. Additionally, key economic data releases from the US, such as non-farm payroll figures, could impact global market sentiment and spill over to Indian equities. Domestically, the upcoming RBI monetary policy meeting will be a focal point, with investors keen to understand the central bank’s stance on inflation and interest rates. Moreover, pending Q2FY25 corporate earnings from select companies could drive stock-specific movements.

However, despite this positive backdrop, market sentiment remains subdued due to mixed global cues, concerns about crude oil price fluctuations, and ongoing uncertainty surrounding the US Federal Reserve’s interest rate policies.
