In each college, faculty members have been appointed as nodal officers to coordinate anti-ragging efforts and address complaints promptly.

Delhi University is preparing to welcome first-year students for the new academic session with a robust set of security and anti-ragging measures. The administration has announced several protocols to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all students, especially the newly admitted ones. These steps include restricted campus entry, increased police patrolling, installation of CCTV surveillance, and the formation of dedicated anti-ragging teams.

In light of past concerns about ragging incidents and safety issues on campus, the university has adopted a zero-tolerance policy this year. Delhi University authorities have been working closely with Delhi Police and local civic bodies to ensure strict enforcement of guidelines and preventive measures across all affiliated colleges and hostels.

All campus gates will have controlled entry points with identity verification in place. Only students and staff members with valid identification will be allowed to enter. Outsiders will not be permitted inside university premises without prior approval. Security personnel and university volunteers have been deployed to monitor movement and assist new students in navigating the campus safely.

To further support the anti-ragging mission, helpline numbers and grievance redressal cells have been established. Students can report any form of harassment or misconduct anonymously. In addition, posters and banners with anti-ragging messages and legal consequences have been displayed across classrooms, corridors, and hostel premises.

Police patrolling has been intensified around key campus locations such as North Campus and South Campus, hostels, metro stations near colleges, and bus stops frequently used by students. Delhi Police has deployed plainclothes officers and female constables to improve surveillance and build a sense of safety among students, particularly female students.

In each college, faculty members have been appointed as nodal officers to coordinate anti-ragging efforts and address complaints promptly. Student unions have also been roped in to help foster a welcoming and friendly environment for the newcomers. Orientation sessions and awareness programs are being organized to familiarize students with university policies, their rights, and the support systems available to them.

Hostel wardens have been instructed to keep a close watch on student behavior during the initial weeks of the session. Special instructions have been issued to senior students outlining the disciplinary consequences of ragging or any form of intimidation. Suspension and rustication are among the penalties listed for any student found guilty of such acts.

University officials have reassured parents and guardians that all necessary steps have been taken to ensure the safety and emotional well-being of their children. A peaceful and inclusive environment is key to a productive academic experience, and Delhi University is committed to upholding that standard.

As the new academic year begins, Delhi University hopes to set an example for other institutions by fostering a culture of mutual respect, discipline, and academic focus while ensuring that every student feels secure and supported on campus.

These steps include restricted campus entry, increased police patrolling, installation of CCTV surveillance, and the formation of dedicated anti-ragging teams.
