With the new academic session approaching, the university has begun the admission process through its Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) for candidates who have appeared for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2025.

Delhi University (DU) has launched its undergraduate admission portal for the academic year 2025-26, offering a total of 71,624 seats across its constituent colleges. With the new academic session approaching, the university has begun the admission process through its Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) for candidates who have appeared for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2025.

The CSAS portal is now live, and interested students can register and apply for their preferred courses and colleges. DU's admission process continues to be aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) guidelines and aims to ensure a transparent and merit-based allocation of seats. The entire process will be conducted online, minimizing paperwork and offering ease of access for students across the country.

Seat Allocation and Structure

This year, 71,624 undergraduate seats are up for grabs across over 90 colleges affiliated with DU. The seats span a range of disciplines including humanities, sciences, commerce, and interdisciplinary programs. The number includes seats reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD), as per government norms.

Admission Through CUET UG

As part of the University Grants Commission’s directive, Delhi University has made CUET UG 2025 the sole criterion for undergraduate admissions. No merit-based admissions through Class 12 marks will be conducted. Students are required to submit their CUET application number and scorecard while applying through the CSAS portal.

Multi-Phase Admission Process

The admission process will be conducted in phases:

  1. Phase 1 – Registration: Students must register on the CSAS portal, provide their CUET application number, and fill in basic information.
  2. Phase 2 – Preference Filling: Candidates must list their preferred courses and colleges in order of priority. Students are advised to make informed choices based on eligibility and past cut-offs.
  3. Phase 3 – Seat Allocation and Confirmation: DU will release seat allocations in rounds. Selected candidates must accept their seats, pay the admission fee, and verify documents.

Important InstructionsApplicants must regularly check the official DU admission website for updates and deadlines.

  • It is mandatory to upload scanned copies of all required documents, including mark sheets, certificates, and photographs.
  • Once a seat is accepted and confirmed, students will not be able to change preferences in subsequent rounds.

Expert Opinion

Admission officials at DU have urged students and parents to carefully go through the guidelines provided on the portal. “We advise all candidates to fill in their preferences wisely and keep all documents ready in advance,” said a senior official from the university's admission committee.

In conclusion, Delhi University’s UG admissions for 2025-26 offer a streamlined, fully online process, opening the doors for thousands of students to pursue higher education across one of India’s most prestigious institutions.

DU's admission process continues to be aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) guidelines and aims to ensure a transparent and merit-based allocation of seats.
