Mumbai University has extended the deadline for online admission registration to Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Fourth Year Honours programmes under the National Education Policy 2020 until July 15, 2026. The decision is intended to provide additional time for prospective students to complete the admission process and submit the required information through the university's official admission portal.

The extension applies to various academic programmes offered by the university and its affiliated colleges for the current admission cycle. Students who have not yet completed their registration can now use the extended period to finish the online application process and upload the necessary documents before the revised deadline.

The university has advised applicants to carefully verify all information entered during registration, including personal details, academic qualifications, category certificates where applicable, and supporting documents. Candidates are encouraged to review the eligibility criteria for their chosen programmes before completing the application process.

The admissions are being conducted under the framework of the National Education Policy 2020, which has introduced several academic reforms aimed at providing greater flexibility, multidisciplinary learning opportunities, and multiple pathways for higher education. The Fourth Year Honours programme forms part of these reforms, offering students an opportunity to pursue advanced academic study in accordance with the revised curriculum structure.

In addition to extending the admission deadline, Mumbai University has announced the postponement of examinations that were scheduled to be conducted on July 6. The decision was taken in view of heavy rainfall affecting Mumbai and surrounding areas, with the objective of ensuring the safety of students, faculty members, and examination staff.

The university stated that revised examination dates will be announced separately through official notifications. Students appearing for the postponed examinations have been advised to regularly monitor the university's official website for updated schedules, examination instructions, and other important announcements.

Heavy rainfall during the monsoon season has disrupted transportation and daily activities across several parts of Mumbai. Educational institutions and public authorities have been closely monitoring weather conditions while implementing necessary precautionary measures to minimise inconvenience and ensure public safety.

University officials have assured students that all admission related activities and examinations will continue according to the revised schedule. The institution has requested applicants and students to rely only on official communication channels for authentic information regarding admissions, examinations, and academic calendars.

Mumbai University is one of India's largest public universities, offering a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and professional programmes through its affiliated colleges and recognised institutions. Every year, thousands of students from across the country apply for admission to its academic programmes.

Education experts advise applicants not to wait until the final day to complete the registration process, as increased online traffic near the deadline may result in technical delays. Students are encouraged to keep copies of all submitted documents, application forms, and payment receipts for future reference during the admission process.

The extension of the registration deadline and the postponement of examinations demonstrate the university's efforts to accommodate students affected by adverse weather conditions while ensuring the smooth conduct of admissions and academic activities. Further announcements regarding examination schedules and admission procedures are expected to be issued through official university notifications.
