The University of Mumbai has announced an extension of the registration deadline for undergraduate and postgraduate admissions for the current academic session. According to the official notification, eligible candidates can now complete their registration through the Samarth admission portal until August 12.

The decision to extend the application deadline has been taken to provide additional time for students who were unable to complete the registration process before the earlier closing date. The extension allows prospective applicants to finish online registration, upload the necessary documents, and submit their applications within the revised schedule.

Candidates seeking admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered by affiliated colleges and recognised institutions under Mumbai University are required to complete the registration process through the official Samarth admission portal. Applicants are advised to carefully fill in their personal, academic, and contact details before submitting the application.

Students should also ensure that all required documents, including educational certificates, identity proof, photographs, and any other documents specified by the university or the respective institution, are uploaded in the prescribed format. Incorrect or incomplete applications may lead to delays during the verification process.

Mumbai University conducts admissions to a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across disciplines such as arts, science, commerce, management, law, education, engineering, and other professional courses through its affiliated colleges and departments.

The Samarth portal has been introduced to streamline the admission process by offering a centralised digital platform for student registration and application management. The online system enables applicants to complete the admission process more efficiently while reducing paperwork and improving transparency.

University officials have advised candidates to avoid waiting until the final day to complete registration, as heavy traffic on the portal may affect access during the closing hours. Students are encouraged to verify all information entered in the application form before final submission.

After the registration process concludes, the university and its affiliated colleges are expected to begin the subsequent stages of admissions, including document verification, merit list publication, counselling where applicable, and confirmation of admission according to the prescribed schedule.

Candidates should regularly monitor the official Mumbai University website and the Samarth admission portal for updates regarding merit lists, admission rounds, counselling schedules, fee payment deadlines, and other important announcements. Admission procedures may vary depending on the course and the affiliated college.

The extension of the registration deadline offers another opportunity for eligible students to participate in the admission process without missing the application window. Applicants who have already completed their registration generally are not required to submit a fresh application unless instructed by the university.

Students are advised to rely only on official notifications issued by Mumbai University and the Samarth portal to obtain accurate information regarding admissions. Any future revisions to the admission schedule or procedural guidelines will be communicated through the university's official channels.
