The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the registration process for the National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Examination (NIFTEE) 2026. Interested candidates can now submit their applications online at https://exams.nta.nic.in/niftee/ from December 8, 2025, until the final deadline of January 6, 2026. The NIFT 2026 registration process features reduced application fees and an increase in the number of test cities to make it easier for candidates from across India to access examination centres.

Stage 1 of NIFT 2026 is scheduled to take place on February 8, 2026, and will be conducted in both Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode for the General Ability Test (GAT) and Pen-and-Paper Test (PBT) mode for the Creative Ability Test (CAT), depending on the course applied for. The centres, dates, and shifts for the examination will be mentioned on the admit card, which will be available for download from the NTA website in the upcoming weeks. Candidates are advised to check the website regularly for the release of admit cards and other important notifications.

For applicants who miss the regular registration deadline, NTA has provided a window for late submission with an additional fee of Rs 5,000 from January 7 to January 10, 2026. Candidates who need to make corrections to their application details can do so online from January 12 to January 14. This ensures that applicants have ample opportunity to verify and update their personal and academic information before the examination.

After the completion of Stage 1, NTA will release the recorded responses and answer keys, allowing candidates to review their performance. The final results for Stage 1 will be declared on the official NTA and NIFT websites. Shortlisted candidates will then proceed to subsequent stages as per NIFT’s admission process.

NIFT Entrance Examination is a highly competitive test for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programs in fashion technology and design across the institute’s campuses. The exam evaluates candidates’ creativity, general ability, and analytical skills, which are essential for a successful career in the fashion and design industry.

This year’s expansion in test cities reflects NTA’s effort to accommodate the growing number of aspirants while ensuring that examination centres are accessible and convenient for all applicants. The reduction in application fees also aims to make the registration process more affordable, enabling greater participation from students across diverse regions.

Candidates are advised to keep multiple copies of their admit card and confirmation page for future reference. They must also adhere to all examination guidelines issued by NTA, including reporting time, document verification requirements, and permitted items within the examination hall.

With registration underway, aspiring fashion professionals are encouraged to complete the application process early to avoid last-minute issues and secure their preferred exam centres. The NIFT 2026 entrance exam represents a key step toward building a career in one of India’s most prestigious fashion institutes.

Candidates who need to make corrections to their application details can do so online from January 12 to January 14.
