The Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) MBA 2026 counselling process has reached an important stage with the release of the tentative seat allotment. Candidates who participated in the MBA counselling can now log in to the official counselling portal and check the institute and course allotted to them based on their rank, category, preferences, and seat availability.

The counselling authority has instructed all allotted candidates to carefully review their seat allotment status and complete the confirmation process before 5 PM on August 7. Candidates who fail to confirm their allotted seat within the specified deadline may lose their allotment, and the seat could be offered to another eligible candidate during subsequent rounds of counselling.

The tentative allotment is not the final admission order. It serves as an initial allocation, allowing candidates to review their assigned institution and indicate whether they wish to accept the offered seat. The counselling authority will consider these confirmations before publishing the provisional seat allotment, which is scheduled for August 9.

Candidates are advised to log in using their registered credentials to access the counselling portal. They should carefully verify all details, including the allotted college, programme, reservation category, and other personal information. If any discrepancy is noticed, candidates should immediately contact the counselling authorities through the official channels.

The TANCET MBA counselling process is conducted to facilitate admissions into Master of Business Administration programmes offered by participating government, government aided, university departments, and self financing institutions across Tamil Nadu. Seat allotment is prepared based on merit, reservation policy, candidate preferences, and the availability of seats in participating colleges.

Candidates who receive an allotment have several responsibilities during this stage. They must confirm their willingness to accept the allotted seat, carefully follow the counselling instructions, and prepare the required documents for the next stage of admission. Missing any deadline may affect their eligibility to continue in the admission process.

Applicants are also advised to keep all original documents ready for verification. These generally include the TANCET scorecard, admit card, qualifying degree certificates, mark sheets, community certificate where applicable, transfer certificate, identity proof, and other documents specified by the counselling authority. Candidates should refer to the official counselling guidelines for the complete list of required documents.

The counselling process follows a structured schedule to ensure transparency and fairness in admissions. After candidates complete seat confirmation, the counselling authority will process all responses and publish the provisional allotment. Candidates should regularly monitor the official counselling website for updates regarding document verification, fee payment, reporting schedules, and further admission instructions.

Education experts recommend that candidates avoid waiting until the final hours to complete seat confirmation, as heavy website traffic or technical issues could delay the process. Completing the required formalities well before the deadline helps ensure a smooth counselling experience.

The TANCET MBA examination remains one of Tamil Nadu's primary entrance examinations for postgraduate management admissions. Every year, thousands of candidates compete for seats in leading management institutions across the state through the centralized counselling process.

Candidates should rely only on official notifications issued by the Directorate of Technical Education and the TANCET counselling authority. Any updates regarding revised schedules, seat allotment, or admission procedures will be published on the official counselling portal.

With the confirmation deadline approaching, candidates are encouraged to complete all required formalities on time to secure their allotted MBA seat and continue with the admission process without interruption.
