Accountability, transparency, and strong checks are essential to restore faith.” He believes that stricter monitoring, digital security, and timely updates from the authorities are necessary to avoid future mishaps.

Krishang Joshi, the student who secured All India Rank 3 in NEET UG 2025, has brought attention to the emotional and psychological impact that examination controversies can have on aspiring candidates. In a candid interview following the result announcement, he spoke about his doubts and concerns stemming from the 2024 NEET UG paper leak incident, which had sparked national outrage and a debate over the credibility of competitive exams in India.

Difficult Journey Post-2024

“After last year’s paper leak scandal, it was very difficult to trust the process. I kept wondering if all the hard work would even matter,” Krishang shared. Like thousands of students across the country, he had invested two years of intensive preparation, only to be met with growing anxiety around the fairness of the system.

While last year’s NEET UG exam was marred by allegations of question paper leaks and poor handling of the issue by authorities, the National Testing Agency (NTA) had faced widespread criticism. Multiple petitions were filed, and student protests erupted in several states demanding justice and re-conduct of the examination.

Overcoming Doubt Through Discipline

Krishang chose not to let the uncertainty derail his focus. “I decided to concentrate on what I could control — my studies, discipline, and mindset. I had to trust myself even if I couldn't trust the system completely,” he said.

He emphasized the importance of mental strength and family support during such uncertain times. “There were days when I doubted everything. But my teachers and parents kept encouraging me to stick to my preparation strategy.”

His approach included regular revision, consistent mock tests, and self-analysis of weak areas. He stayed away from distractions and avoided overexposure to media coverage of the 2024 scandal to maintain focus.

Call for Reform

Krishang also made a strong case for reform in the conduct of national-level exams. “If lakhs of students are preparing sincerely, they should not suffer because of systemic failures. Accountability, transparency, and strong checks are essential to restore faith.”

He believes that stricter monitoring, digital security, and timely updates from the authorities are necessary to avoid future mishaps.

NTA’s Response in 2025

Learning from last year’s backlash, the NTA took visible steps to improve the examination process in 2025. This included tighter security at exam centers, increased surveillance measures, and the use of encrypted digital formats for question papers. So far, there have been no major complaints or irregularities reported in NEET UG 2025.

Inspiration for Aspirants

Krishang’s journey is being celebrated by students and educators alike. His resilience in the face of doubt has become a symbol of hope for many. “Your rank may be a number, but your effort is immeasurable. Keep working hard,” he advised future aspirants.

As India continues to refine its examination system, stories like Krishang Joshi’s offer a reminder that integrity, preparation, and belief in self are crucial — even when institutional trust is shaken.
