The Board of Intermediate Education Andhra Pradesh has rolled out detailed guidelines and administrative measures to prevent malpractice during the AP Intermediate Exams 2026. The annual public examinations for first and second year Intermediate students are set to take place from February 23 to March 24 2026. With the exams drawing closer the AP board has emphasized the importance of maintaining integrity and discipline across all exam centers in the state.
To review and discuss the initiatives a crucial meeting was recently held under the leadership of P Ranjit Basha IAS Secretary and Director of Intermediate Education. The meeting was attended by regional joint directors district vocational education officers and other senior officials responsible for conducting the board examinations. The objective of the discussion was to ensure uniform implementation of anti malpractice strategies and to strengthen coordination among various departments.
According to the newly released instructions the board has decided to adopt a multi layer approach for monitoring the examinations. Examination centers will be placed under constant vigilance through flying squads and special inspection teams. These squads will conduct surprise checks to detect any irregularities such as use of unauthorized materials impersonation or external interference. The presence of flying squads has been increased compared to previous years to ensure wider coverage.
The AP board has also ordered stricter arrangements for seating plans entry procedures and invigilation duties. Students will undergo thorough verification at the time of entering the exam hall and only permitted stationery items will be allowed inside. Invigilators have been instructed to remain alert and follow standard operating procedures while distributing question papers and collecting answer booklets. Closed circuit cameras are expected to be used in sensitive centers to record exam hall activities.
Another key measure involves secure handling of question papers. The board has directed that all examination material must be stored and transported under sealed conditions with proper police protection. Strong rooms will be set up in designated locations and access to these rooms will be restricted to authorized personnel only. Officials responsible for custody of exam papers will be held accountable for any lapse.
The board has further warned against involvement of teaching staff or outsiders in assisting students unfairly. Strict disciplinary action will be taken against anyone found encouraging cheating. Examination center chiefs and department officers have been given clear responsibilities to report incidents immediately and register cases wherever necessary. The AP government has expressed full support to the board in implementing these rules.
Malpractice during board exams has been a long standing concern in many states. Education authorities believe that strong preventive steps not only protect deserving students but also improve public trust in the examination system. The measures for 2026 aim to ensure that merit alone determines student performance and future college admissions.
In addition to checking malpractice the board has focused on creating a student friendly exam atmosphere. Officials discussed reducing unnecessary stress on candidates ensuring availability of drinking water medical aid and proper infrastructure at centers. The BIEAP hopes that the combination of strict supervision and supportive facilities will help conduct examinations smoothly.
Students parents and school managements have been advised to familiarize themselves with the updated rules before the exams begin. The AP Intermediate exams play a vital role in shaping higher education opportunities for students across Andhra Pradesh. Through these comprehensive strategies the board is determined to uphold fairness transparency and equal opportunity for all candidates appearing in 2026.
