The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is all set to release the admit cards for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026, likely on or before February 5. This announcement comes after the CBSE released the exam city slips, which provide candidates with information about the location where they will take the test. It is important to note that exam city slips and admit cards are different. While city slips only indicate the exam city, the CTET admit card will contain comprehensive details including exam venue, date, session timing, reporting instructions, and guidelines.
CTET 2026 is scheduled to be conducted on February 8, 2026, in pen-and-paper mode across 132 cities in India. The exam will be held in two sessions. Paper 1 is for candidates aspiring to teach classes 1 to 5, while Paper 2 is for those planning to teach classes 6 to 8. The morning session for Paper 1 will be conducted from 9:30 am to 12:00 noon, and candidates are advised to reach the exam center by 7:30 am. Entry gates will close strictly at 9:30 am, and latecomers will not be permitted inside the examination hall.
Candidates must download their CTET 2026 admit card from the official website ctet.nic.in using their application number and date of birth or password. It is mandatory to carry a printed copy of the admit card to the examination hall. Along with the hall ticket, candidates should also carry a valid government-issued photo ID proof such as Aadhaar card, PAN card, passport, or voter ID. Failing to carry either the admit card or ID proof will result in denial of entry.
The CTET admit card is an essential document as it verifies the candidate’s identity and provides important details about the exam center and timing. CBSE generally releases the admit cards three to four days before the examination. Following this pattern, candidates can expect to download their hall tickets by February 5. Candidates should ensure that all details mentioned on the admit card, such as name, photo, exam center, and session, are correct. Any discrepancies should be reported to CBSE immediately.
CTET is a crucial examination for aspiring teachers in India, as clearing it is mandatory to teach in central government schools and many state schools. Candidates appearing for the exam should also go through the official guidelines mentioned on the admit card to avoid any inconvenience on the exam day.
In summary, CTET 2026 candidates should regularly check the official website for updates and be prepared with their admit cards and valid ID proof before February 8. Being punctual and following the exam instructions will ensure a smooth experience on the day of the examination.
