With the postponement, candidates who had already completed their applications and exam preparations are now awaiting clarity on the new timeline.

The Board of School Education Haryana has officially postponed the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) 2026, leaving lakhs of aspirants awaiting a fresh examination schedule. The board confirmed that the examination, which was scheduled to be conducted soon, has been deferred indefinitely. A revised date for the exam will be announced later through an official notification.

According to the board, the postponement was necessitated due to administrative and logistical considerations. While no specific reason was detailed in the notice, officials assured candidates that the examination will be conducted at the earliest possible date once all arrangements are finalised. Candidates have been advised not to rely on unofficial sources and to check the board’s website regularly for authentic updates.

The HTET is a crucial eligibility examination for candidates aspiring to become teachers in Haryana government schools. It is conducted for three levels: Primary Teacher (Level 1), Trained Graduate Teacher (Level 2), and Post Graduate Teacher (Level 3). Qualifying HTET is mandatory for appointment to teaching posts under the Haryana education system, making the exam highly significant for teaching aspirants.

With the postponement, candidates who had already completed their applications and exam preparations are now awaiting clarity on the new timeline. Education experts suggest that the delay may give aspirants additional time to revise the syllabus and strengthen their preparation. However, prolonged uncertainty can also add to stress among candidates, especially those who have planned their schedules around the original exam dates.

The board has clarified that all previously issued guidelines related to eligibility, syllabus, and exam pattern will remain unchanged unless notified otherwise. Admit cards will be issued afresh once the new examination dates are finalised. Candidates are advised to keep their registration details safe, as the same login credentials will be used for downloading hall tickets and checking results.

In recent years, HTET examinations have seen occasional postponements due to administrative reasons, technical issues, or overlapping national-level examinations. The board has reiterated its commitment to conducting the exam in a fair and transparent manner and ensuring smooth arrangements at examination centres across the state.

Candidates should also be cautious of misinformation circulating on social media platforms regarding revised dates. The board has urged applicants to depend only on official announcements published on its website or through verified press releases.

Once conducted, the HTET 2026 result is expected to be declared within a few weeks, followed by the issuance of eligibility certificates. These certificates remain valid for a lifetime, as per the National Council for Teacher Education guidelines.

For now, candidates are advised to stay updated and continue their preparation while awaiting the official announcement of the revised examination schedule.
