The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has officially announced a revised schedule for the Chartered Accountants Intermediate Examination 2026. The revision affects one paper of the CA Intermediate Group II examination, while all other examinations will proceed as originally planned. Candidates who have registered for the January 2026 session are advised to carefully review the updated dates through the official ICAI website.
According to the notification released by ICAI, the Intermediate Examination Group II Paper 5, Auditing and Ethics, which was earlier scheduled to be held on January 19, 2026, has been postponed. The examination will now take place on January 31, 2026. The exam duration and timing will remain unchanged and will be conducted from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM IST.
ICAI has confirmed that admit cards already issued to candidates will remain valid for the rescheduled examination date. Candidates are not required to download fresh admit cards for the postponed paper. The institute has also clarified that there will be no changes to the examination schedule even if any of the exam dates coincide with public holidays declared by the Central Government, State Governments, or local authorities.
In addition to the CA Intermediate update, ICAI confirmed that the Chartered Accountants Foundation Examination for January 2026 will be conducted as per the original schedule. The Foundation papers will be held on January 20, January 22, and January 24, 2026. Candidates appearing for the Foundation examination should follow the details mentioned on their admit cards regarding exam timings and reporting instructions.
