Only candidates who qualify JEE Main 2026 and meet the eligibility criteria will be permitted to appear for JEE Advanced.

The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) have officially announced the schedule for the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced 2026. According to the notification released by the organising institute, JEE Advanced 2026 registration will commence on April 23, 2026, while the examination is scheduled to be held on May 17, 2026. The announcement brings clarity and direction for lakhs of engineering aspirants across the country who aim to secure admission into premier technical institutions.

JEE Advanced is one of the most competitive entrance examinations in India and serves as the final selection stage for admission into undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs. Only candidates who qualify JEE Main 2026 and meet the eligibility criteria will be permitted to appear for JEE Advanced. The number of candidates shortlisted for the exam will be based on the cut-off decided by the Joint Admission Board.

As per the schedule, the examination will be conducted in two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2, both of which are mandatory. The papers will test candidates on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics through a mix of objective and numerical-based questions. The exam pattern is known for its emphasis on analytical thinking, conceptual clarity, and problem-solving skills rather than rote learning.

The registration process will be conducted entirely online through the official JEE Advanced website. Candidates will be required to fill out personal details, academic information, and upload necessary documents, including photographs and signatures. After completing the application form, candidates must pay the examination fee within the stipulated time frame to confirm their registration.

Following the examination, results are expected to be declared in early June 2026. Based on the results, successful candidates will be eligible to participate in the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling process. JoSAA counselling facilitates admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other Government Funded Technical Institutes. Seat allocation will depend on the candidate’s rank, preferences, and availability of seats.

Education experts advise aspirants to use the available time effectively by following a structured preparation plan. Regular practice of mock tests, analysis of previous years’ question papers, and strengthening core concepts are considered essential for success in JEE Advanced. Since the exam pattern often changes, candidates are also advised to stay updated through official notifications.

With the release of the JEE Advanced 2026 schedule, students can now plan their preparation timeline more efficiently. The examination remains a crucial milestone for engineering aspirants aspiring to study at India’s most prestigious technical institutions. Further details regarding admit cards, exam centres, and instructions will be announced closer to the examination date.

The announcement brings clarity and direction for lakhs of engineering aspirants across the country who aim to secure admission into premier technical institutions.
