The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has released the official exam calendar for 2026, including the much‑awaited UP TET 2026 exam dates, on its website upessc.up.gov.in. The schedule outlines the exam timetable for the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UP TET) as well as key recruitment examinations for teaching and academic positions in the state. According to the official calendar, the UP TET will be conducted over three days from 2 July to 4 July 2026. This announcement gives clarity to thousands of candidates preparing for the eligibility test to teach at primary and upper primary levels in Uttar Pradesh schools.
The UPESSC’s calendar for 2026 includes several other important exams for the education sector. The Assistant Professor recruitment examination is scheduled to be held on 18 and 19 April 2026, while the Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) exam will take place on 9 and 10 May 2026. The Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) examination is slated for 3 and 4 June 2026. The official timetable confirms that the UP TET will follow these recruitment tests, offering aspirants an extended window to prepare systematically for each stage.
The UP TET is a state‑level eligibility test conducted by the UPESSC for candidates seeking to become teachers in government and government‑aided schools. The exam generally consists of two papers: Paper I for candidates aspiring to teach Classes 1 to 5 and Paper II for candidates aiming to teach Classes 6 to 8. Some candidates appear for both papers depending on their teaching goals and eligibility requirements. The UP TET qualification is mandatory for recruitment to many teaching positions across the state.
The official release of the exam schedule was long awaited after previous postponements and lack of clarity around the exam dates. Earlier, the UP TET 2025 exam, initially scheduled for January 29 and 30, 2026, was postponed due to administrative decisions. This delay left many aspiring teachers uncertain about their exam timeline until the UPESSC released the comprehensive calendar encompassing multiple teacher recruitment tests.
Candidates planning to appear for the UP TET 2026 should stay updated with announcements on the official UPESSC portal, where the notification, application form, eligibility criteria, and other details will be published. It is crucial for applicants to keep track of deadlines for registration, exam centre allotments, and admit card releases, as these will be made available ahead of the scheduled exam dates.
The release of the exam dates is expected to streamline the preparation strategy of teacher aspirants, allowing them to balance their study plan across the various exams included in the 2026 calendar. With the UP TET scheduled for July, candidates now have several months to prepare thoroughly for the test and focus on achieving the qualifying marks needed for eligibility.
