Indian Oil Corporation Limited has officially announced the Apprentice Recruitment 2026 for its Western Region, offering 405 apprenticeship positions across multiple states and union territories. The recruitment drive includes Technician Apprentice, Trade Apprentice, and Graduate Apprentice roles and is intended to provide structured training and practical exposure to candidates seeking experience in one of India’s largest public sector enterprises.

According to the notification released by Indian Oil, the recruitment covers locations in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman and Diu. Among these, Maharashtra has the highest number of vacancies with 179 posts, followed by Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh with 69 vacancies each. The remaining posts are distributed evenly across the other regions.

The apprenticeship opportunities are offered in disciplines such as Mechanical Technician Apprentice, Trade Apprentice Fitter, Trade Apprentice Data Entry Operator, and Graduate Apprentice across various academic streams. The vacancies are distributed among unreserved, EWS, SC, ST, OBC non creamy layer, and PwBD categories as per government reservation norms.

Candidates interested in applying must complete registration on the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme or National Apprenticeship Training Scheme portals before submitting their application under the IOCL notification. The application process is entirely online, and the deadline for submission is January 30, 2026, by 5 pm.

Indian Oil has clarified that there will be no written examination or interview for the selection process. The merit list will be prepared based on the percentage of marks obtained in the essential qualification prescribed for each apprenticeship post. Candidates shortlisted on merit will be called for document verification and a pre engagement medical fitness examination.

Medical fitness is a mandatory requirement, and candidates are advised to review Indian Oil’s pre engagement medical guidelines before applying. Only those candidates who successfully complete document verification and medical assessment will receive an offer of engagement for apprenticeship training.

The corporation has also specified that a candidate can undergo a maximum of two apprenticeship trainings during their lifetime, provided that the second training is in a different trade. A minimum gap of one year is required between two apprenticeship trainings unless the earlier training was terminated due to reasons attributable to the employer.

Indian Oil has further stated that if any vacancies remain unfilled after the initial selection process, eligible candidates from the existing merit panel may be considered. Candidates from reserved categories applying for unreserved seats must meet the eligibility standards applicable to general category applicants.

Applicants are strongly advised to carefully read the official notification, ensure eligibility, and complete all required registrations before submitting the application to avoid rejection. c
