Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy Announces Unprecedented Recruitment of 55,143 Employees in One Year
In a landmark achievement, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced that his government has successfully recruited 55,143 government employees within the first year of its tenure, a feat described as "unprecedented" by the CM. This recruitment drive spans across various government departments, setting a record for the country.
Speaking at an event to distribute financial assistance under the 'Rajiv Gandhi Civil Services Abhaya Hastam' programme, Chief Minister Reddy emphasized that the Telangana government is taking all necessary steps to ensure timely and efficient recruitment as per the job calendar. He praised the efforts of the state government in filling the vacancies and called Telangana a "model" for other states in India.
One of the key highlights of the announcement was the completion of the long-awaited Group 1 exams, which had not been conducted in the past 14 years. The Chief Minister proudly mentioned that his government overcame numerous hurdles to conduct the exams, which led to the filling of 563 Group 1 posts. He assured that the recruitment process for Group 1 positions would be completed by March 31.
Reddy also reiterated the government's commitment to supporting civil services aspirants in every way possible. He highlighted that one of the main objectives of the government is to ensure that more candidates from Telangana are selected for civil services. Drawing attention to the dominance of students from Bihar in civil services, he expressed the ambition to make Telangana the state with the highest number of civil services selections in India.
In line with this commitment, the government is providing Rs 1 lakh financial assistance to civil services aspirants through the 'Rajiv Gandhi Civil Services Abhaya Hastam' programme. The CM encouraged the aspirants to see this financial support as a gesture of encouragement from the government. As part of the programme, twenty successful candidates from Telangana who cleared the Civil Services Mains exams were awarded Rs 1 lakh cheques each.
This move underscores the government's dedication to providing the necessary resources and support to students aspiring for a career in civil services, ensuring that more candidates from Telangana succeed on the national stage.
