Bethlehem Kudumba Unit director Girish AD has spoken about his desire to bring two of Malayalam cinema's most prominent stars, Mohanlal and Mammootty, together in a film.
In a recent interview, the filmmaker said he would be interested in directing both actors if he finds the right material. However, he made it clear that he does not want to develop a project simply because of the opportunity to bring two major stars together.
According to Girish AD, the story must come first. He said that he currently does not have a story that he considers suitable for both Mohanlal and Mammootty. If he eventually develops an appropriate idea and screenplay, he would be open to discussing the possibility with the actors.
Girish also revealed that he has not been approached so far for a project involving the two veteran stars. He indicated that there would be no difficulty in having a discussion if he had the right material to present.
The director considers a film featuring Mohanlal and Mammootty a significant responsibility. The success and attention surrounding Girish's recent films have also increased interest in his future projects. A potential film with Mohanlal and Mammootty would naturally attract considerable attention because of the stature of both actors.
However, there is currently no confirmed project featuring Girish AD, Mohanlal and Mammootty together. The director's comments indicate that the idea remains dependent on the development of a suitable story and screenplay.
