Soori’s Mandaadi continued to maintain a substantial lead over Karthi’s Sardar 2 at the box office after completing eight days in theatres. The Mathimaran Pugazhendi directorial collected a reported Rs 3.25 crore net in India on Day 8, according to figures tracked by Sacnilk. The latest collection takes the film’s total India net earnings to Rs 57.30 crore.
Mandaadi witnessed a moderate decline on its eighth day compared with the previous day. The film had collected Rs 3.50 crore net on Day 7, meaning the Day 8 figure represents a drop of approximately 7.1 percent. Despite the decline, the film continued to generate theatrical revenue across its Tamil and Telugu versions.
According to the available trade-tracking data, Mandaadi was screened across 3,524 shows on Day 8 and recorded an overall occupancy of 22.4 percent. The Tamil version contributed Rs 2.55 crore from 2,387 tracked shows, with occupancy reported at 23 percent. The Telugu version added Rs 70 lakh from 1,137 shows, recording 21 percent occupancy.
The film had a strong first week at the domestic box office. Mandaadi opened with Rs 4.85 crore on September 10. Its collection increased to Rs 6.70 crore on the second day before reaching Rs 10 crore on Saturday. The film recorded its highest single-day India net collection of the opening week on Sunday, when it reportedly earned Rs 13.05 crore.
The movie continued its momentum on Monday with Rs 11.25 crore, before collections declined during the following weekdays. Mandaadi collected Rs 4.70 crore on Day 6 and Rs 3.50 crore on Day 7. The Day 8 figure of Rs 3.25 crore brought its first-week India net total to Rs 57.30 crore.
Mandaadi’s overall domestic gross collection was reported at Rs 67.03 crore after eight days. The film also recorded Rs 12.90 crore in overseas gross collections. Combining the reported domestic and overseas figures, its worldwide gross stood at approximately Rs 79.93 crore.
The film’s performance is also being closely compared with Sardar 2, which released on the same day. Karthi’s Sardar 2 recorded an estimated India net collection of Rs 66 lakh on Day 8. The figure represented a 5.7 percent decline from its Day 7 collection of Rs 70 lakh. Its total India net collection reached Rs 15.21 crore after eight days, while its India gross stood at Rs 17.79 crore. The overseas gross collection was reported at Rs 4.75 crore, taking its worldwide gross to Rs 22.54 crore.
The Day 8 figures therefore show a significant difference between the domestic theatrical totals of the two films. Mandaadi had accumulated Rs 57.30 crore net in India, while Sardar 2 had recorded Rs 15.21 crore net. Based on these reported figures, Mandaadi's India net total was more than three times that of Sardar 2 after eight days.
Both films are entering the second week of their theatrical runs, and their performances over the coming weekend and subsequent weekdays will determine how their respective box-office trajectories develop. Daily collections can fluctuate depending on show counts, audience occupancy, competing releases, and regional performance.
Mandaadi is directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendi and features Soori in the lead role, with Mahima Nambiar and Sathyaraj among the principal cast members. The film has been drawing audiences across its Tamil and Telugu versions.
Sardar 2, meanwhile, stars Karthi and continues the franchise following the earlier Sardar film. The sequel has also been released across Tamil and Telugu markets.
The reported figures should be treated as trade estimates rather than final audited studio numbers. Box-office collections can be updated as additional reports from domestic and overseas markets are incorporated.
