In a vibrant effort to promote health and eco-conscious transportation, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini flagged off a large-scale cyclothon event in Jind. The event was part of a state-wide campaign aimed at encouraging physical fitness, environmental responsibility, and sustainable modes of transport among citizens.

The cyclothon saw enthusiastic participation from local residents, students, government officials, and cycling groups. With colorful banners and slogans promoting health and environmental awareness, the streets of Jind were filled with energy and enthusiasm as hundreds took part in the cycling rally.

Addressing the crowd before the flag-off, CM Saini emphasized the government’s commitment to promoting a healthier Haryana through such initiatives. “Cycling is not just a form of exercise but a powerful tool to combat environmental issues such as pollution and traffic congestion. Through this event, we aim to send a strong message about the importance of staying fit and protecting our environment,” he said.

The Chief Minister also spoke about the state government’s ongoing efforts to develop cycling infrastructure in urban and rural areas. Plans include creating dedicated cycling tracks, installing bike-sharing stations, and organizing regular fitness campaigns at the district level.

Highlighting the dual benefits of cycling, CM Saini urged the youth to adopt bicycles as a regular mode of transport for short distances. “This small step can lead to major benefits for personal health and our planet,” he noted.

Apart from promoting fitness, the cyclothon also served as a platform to raise awareness about road safety and responsible commuting. Police personnel and safety volunteers were deployed along the route to guide participants and ensure smooth conduct of the event.

Local officials and representatives from fitness organizations also addressed the gathering, sharing insights on the long-term advantages of incorporating regular physical activity into daily life. Many participants expressed their enthusiasm, calling the event a refreshing initiative that brought the community together for a meaningful cause.

The cyclothon concluded at the Jind Municipal Grounds with a felicitation ceremony for standout participants. Certificates and medals were distributed to encourage continued participation in such health-forward activities.

This initiative marks another step in Haryana’s growing focus on public health, sustainable living, and community engagement, as part of its larger vision for a clean and fit state.
