Union Home Minister Amit Shah presented gallantry medals to brave Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel during the CRPF’s Raising Day Parade held at the Group Centre in Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh. The prestigious ceremony marked the CRPF’s commitment to maintaining internal security and combating threats to national peace.
Speaking at the event, Shah lauded the dedication and sacrifice of CRPF personnel, acknowledging their crucial role in maintaining law and order across various challenging regions of the country. He expressed gratitude on behalf of the nation and stated that the bravery displayed by CRPF jawans has always strengthened India’s internal security mechanism.
Highlighting the importance of the Raising Day Parade, the Union Home Minister said that the celebration is not only a moment to honour the force but also an opportunity to reflect on their contributions in anti-Naxal operations, counter-insurgency efforts, and various internal security challenges. Shah mentioned that the CRPF has been instrumental in ensuring peace in Left-Wing Extremism-affected areas, Jammu and Kashmir, and the Northeast.
During the parade, the CRPF showcased a range of tactical demonstrations and operational drills, including mock encounters, hostage rescue missions, and riot control measures. These displays highlighted the preparedness and professionalism of the force in dealing with real-time challenges.
Amit Shah also interacted with the medal recipients and their families, assuring them of the government's unwavering support. He reiterated the Centre’s commitment to modernising paramilitary forces through better infrastructure, advanced weaponry, and enhanced welfare measures for jawans and their dependents.
The event was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, CRPF top brass, and state government representatives. The Neemuch Group Centre, which hosted the event, holds historical significance as one of the oldest training centres of the CRPF.
Founded in 1939, the CRPF is India’s largest paramilitary force under the Ministry of Home Affairs. It plays a pivotal role in counter-insurgency, disaster response, and maintaining public order during national elections and emergencies.
The gallantry awards presented at the ceremony serve as a testament to the courage and unwavering spirit of the CRPF personnel. The nation salutes their service and stands united in honouring their sacrifice and dedication.
