In a grand celebration of culture, locals greeted the arriving guests at Bhubaneswar airport with a lively performance of Odisha's traditional Ghumura dance, ahead of the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) Convention. The event will take place from January 8-10, 2025, in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, with the central theme, "Diaspora's Contribution to a Viksit Bharat," emphasizing the invaluable contributions of the Indian diaspora towards building a prosperous and developed India.
The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, held biennially, serves as a vital platform for strengthening ties between the Government of India and the overseas Indian community. It provides an opportunity to engage with the diaspora, reconnecting them with their cultural roots while celebrating their contributions to India's growth. The 18th edition is expected to witness vibrant discussions and interactions around the theme, bringing together policymakers, business leaders, and members of the Indian diaspora from around the world.
This annual gathering not only highlights the cultural richness of India but also fosters a deeper connection between India and its global community, driving initiatives for India's further development.
