Telangana Signs MoU with ITServe Alliance for Creating 30,000 IT Jobs in Tier-2 and Tier-3 Towns
In a significant move aimed at decentralizing IT sector growth, the Telangana government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ITServe Alliance, one of the largest associations of IT companies in the United States. The collaboration focuses on creating 30,000 new jobs in Tier-2 and Tier-3 towns in the state, marking a major step in fostering regional development and inclusive growth.
Job Creation and Infrastructure Development
Although the government did not specify an exact timeline, sources indicated that the job creation initiative will span over 3 to 5 years. The MoU outlines that the Telangana government will assist in developing essential infrastructure, including office spaces and modern facilities, in towns like Mahbubnagar, Warangal, Karimnagar, Khammam, and Nizamabad. These towns will serve as hubs for ITServe Alliance member companies to establish IT and related operations.
Enhancing Hyderabad’s IT Ecosystem
In addition to expanding operations in regional towns, the MoU also includes provisions for the construction of office buildings in Hyderabad’s Financial District for ITServe Alliance companies. This development is designed to ensure a seamless synergy between urban and regional operations, positioning Telangana as a comprehensive hub for IT growth.
Upskilling and Reskilling Local Workforce
As part of the agreement, ITServe Alliance will focus on workforce development through upskilling and reskilling initiatives to ensure that the local communities are equipped with industry-ready talent. This effort aims to build a strong talent pool from within the state’s smaller towns, providing a sustainable workforce for the growing IT sector.
Government’s Vision for Balanced Growth
Telangana’s IT and Industries Minister, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, emphasized that this initiative aligns with the government’s vision of replicating Hyderabad’s IT success in the state’s Tier-2 and Tier-3 towns. He highlighted the importance of equal opportunity, workforce development, and reducing migration to cities like Hyderabad, which is expected to face space constraints in the coming years.
Sridhar Babu noted, "This partnership with ITServe Alliance will contribute to balanced, sustainable growth for the entire state. It will not only reduce migration to urban centers but also help decongest the city, ensuring that the talent from our towns remains engaged with local opportunities."
ITServe Alliance’s Role in Regional Development
Jagadeesh Mosali, National President of ITServe Alliance, expressed excitement about the partnership, noting that it offers an opportunity for ITServe member companies to tap into the untapped talent in Tier-2 and Tier-3 towns. He also emphasized the importance of the initiative in shaping the future of IT in India.
