Hospitals across Telangana have resumed their services under the Aarogyasri healthcare scheme following successful negotiations between the Telangana Network Hospitals Association (TANHA) and state health minister Damodara Rajanarasimha. The resolution came after a crucial meeting at the Aarogyasri Health Care Trust headquarters in Hyderabad, where the government assured that pending dues would be cleared within the next 4-5 months and regular payments would be made thereafter.
TANHA President Dr. V Rakesh expressed gratitude for the government's positive response to their concerns, particularly regarding the challenges faced by smaller and mid-segment hospitals. He acknowledged the commitment shown by the government to resolve these issues and emphasized that the solution would benefit both hospitals and beneficiaries.
A significant outcome of the negotiations was the formation of a special committee, which will be led by the CEO of Aarogyasri Health Care Trust. The committee's role is to redraft the scheme's memorandum of understanding (MoU) and revise the compensation packages for network hospitals. Dr. Rakesh further highlighted that the minister had assured that the committee would include representatives from hospitals to ensure their concerns are properly addressed in the revised framework.
The resolution brings an end to a 10-day service suspension that had affected thousands of beneficiaries across the state. During this period, many patients were unable to access critical healthcare services under the Aarogyasri scheme. However, with the successful resolution of the issues, all empanelled hospitals have now been instructed to restore their services, ensuring that patients can once again access necessary healthcare under the scheme.
