West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has announced the rollout of the Annapurna Bhandar scheme, a major welfare initiative aimed at supporting women across the state. The scheme is scheduled to be implemented from June 1, according to directions issued during the first cabinet meeting of the newly formed BJP government in West Bengal.
The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari and attended by ministers and senior government officials. The meeting focused on several welfare and governance measures promised by the party during the election campaign.
Under the proposed Annapurna Bhandar scheme, eligible women beneficiaries in West Bengal may receive financial assistance of Rs 3,000 per month directly into their bank accounts.
