The state government has requested all visitors to follow safety protocols, remain alert to weather updates, and respect local guidelines for environmental preservation.

The sacred portals of Kedarnath Dham, one of the most revered sites in Hinduism, have officially opened today, marking the commencement of the Char Dham Yatra 2025. Located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, Kedarnath is one of the four pilgrimage sites included in the Char Dham circuit, along with Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri.

Early this morning, hundreds of devotees braved biting cold weather and lined up outside the temple premises to witness the auspicious opening and offer their prayers. The yatra, which attracts lakhs of pilgrims every year, holds deep spiritual significance and is considered one of the holiest journeys for Hindu devotees.

In anticipation of the opening, the temple has been adorned with thousands of flowers, creating a vibrant and serene atmosphere. Stunning drone visuals released by the authorities and local media captured the magnificent aerial view of the flower-decorated temple nestled in the Himalayan range. These visuals have added to the spiritual fervor, drawing attention from across the country.

Officials from the Uttarakhand government and the Char Dham Devasthanam Board have confirmed that all necessary arrangements have been made for the safe movement and accommodation of pilgrims. Special provisions have been ensured for weather monitoring, crowd management, emergency medical facilities, and food distribution at key points along the yatra route.

Security forces, including the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and local police, have been deployed in and around Kedarnath to ensure the safety and well-being of the devotees. Several check posts, help centers, and information booths have been established to assist pilgrims at every stage of the journey.

The Kedarnath Dham will remain open to pilgrims throughout the yatra season, which typically continues till the onset of winter, when heavy snowfall leads to the annual closure of the shrine. The first day's opening is considered especially auspicious, and a large number of devotees made advance registrations to be present on this sacred occasion.

Authorities have also encouraged digital registration and mobile applications to manage the flow of pilgrims efficiently. Helicopter services, mule rides, and other transport facilities have resumed operations, making the shrine accessible to pilgrims of all age groups and physical abilities.

As the Char Dham Yatra begins, spiritual energy and religious devotion are palpable throughout the region. The state government has requested all visitors to follow safety protocols, remain alert to weather updates, and respect local guidelines for environmental preservation.

With this year's yatra now officially underway, Kedarnath Dham once again becomes a beacon of faith and devotion, inviting pilgrims from all walks of life to embark on this sacred journey.
