BJP Launches Month Long Youth Outreach to Mark PM Modi’s 25 Years in Public Service
The Bharatiya Janata Party has announced a month long nationwide outreach campaign to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday and his completion of 25 years in public service. The campaign, named Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, is scheduled to begin on September 17, 2026, which is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, and continue until October 17.
The campaign is designed to highlight Modi’s 25 years in public life, beginning with his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister and continuing through his years as Prime Minister. According to the BJP, the programme will include a range of public outreach activities, service initiatives, youth programmes and events aimed at communicating the party’s development and governance agenda.
Youth engagement is expected to be one of the major components of the campaign. The BJP plans to organise programmes that provide young people with opportunities to participate in voluntary service, interact with communities and contribute ideas on development.
One of the prominent youth initiatives will involve service yatras between Vadnagar in Gujarat, Prime Minister Modi’s birthplace, and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, his parliamentary constituency. Reports said that youth groups will travel through 10 states as part of the outreach programme. The participants are expected to hold interactions with people in villages and engage with farmers, youth groups and other sections of society.
The youth outreach is intended to take the campaign beyond traditional political programmes. Through direct interactions and community activities, the BJP plans to encourage young people to participate in social service and understand various government programmes.
Another important component will be the Seva Mera Yogdan initiative. Under this programme, people will be encouraged to contribute time towards voluntary service activities. The initiative is expected to focus on the idea that citizens can contribute to society through small but meaningful efforts.
The campaign will also include an innovation challenge aimed at students, startups and professionals. Participants will be encouraged to present innovative ideas and solutions. Selected innovations are expected to receive wider attention through the campaign.
The BJP has also planned activities involving schools and young people. Drawing, painting and speech competitions are among the programmes planned as part of the wider campaign. These activities are expected to focus on themes including public service and the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
The campaign will begin on September 17 with blood donation camps across the country. Other programmes include public outreach activities, cleanliness drives, exhibitions, seminars and interactions with beneficiaries of government welfare schemes.
The BJP has also planned activities to communicate information about government schemes and development programmes. Outreach at the grassroots level will be carried out through different programmes, including service camps and community interactions.
The campaign comes at a time when political parties are seeking greater engagement with younger voters and first time participants in the electoral process. By placing youth at the centre of several activities, the BJP is seeking to create greater participation among young people while presenting its account of the government’s work over the past several years.
The campaign will also seek to connect with different sections of society, including women, farmers, welfare beneficiaries and people living in rural areas. The BJP has described the programme as an effort to take the message of public service to citizens across the country.
The party has planned several activities through October 17, when the month long campaign is scheduled to conclude. A major concluding programme is also planned as part of the campaign.
The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan is therefore expected to combine political outreach with social service, youth participation and public communication. For the BJP, the campaign provides an opportunity to highlight Prime Minister Modi’s political journey and the party’s governance priorities.
For young participants, the programmes are intended to provide opportunities to take part in community service, innovation activities and public interactions. The youth focused initiatives, particularly the planned yatras across 10 states, are expected to be among the most visible components of the nationwide campaign.
The campaign will continue until October 17, with the BJP planning activities at national, state and grassroots levels. The party hopes that the month long programme will strengthen its connection with young people and communicate its vision for India’s future while marking 25 years of Prime Minister Modi’s public service.
