Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh has said that the youth of Kashmir are highly aspirational and keen to become part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s growth story. He made the remarks while addressing the Jammu and Kashmir BJP State Office Bearers’ Meet at Nowgam in Srinagar on Sunday.
Singh called for stronger grassroots engagement with citizens across the Kashmir Valley, particularly with the younger generation. He said continuous interaction with young people would help political and administrative representatives understand their aspirations, expectations and concerns more effectively.
According to Singh, the changing environment in Jammu and Kashmir has created new opportunities for young people. He identified education, professional development, entrepreneurship and employment as areas in which the younger generation is increasingly looking for opportunities.
The Union minister said the aspirations of Kashmir’s youth represent an important opportunity for the future of Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting in Srinagar was attended by senior Jammu and Kashmir BJP leaders and office-bearers. Jammu and Kashmir BJP president and Rajya Sabha member Sat Sharma addressed the gathering and spoke about strengthening the party organisation and working towards a developed and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir.
Leader of Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Sunil Sharma and other senior party leaders were also present at the meeting. The gathering discussed organisational matters as well as political issues concerning the Union Territory. The BJP has also been preparing its strategy for the upcoming Assembly session scheduled to begin on September 21, according to reports.
