As Bangladesh squares off against India in the first Test of their two-match series in Chennai, all eyes have been on Hasan Mahmud, the young pacer making waves with his impressive performance. Mahmud has made a significant impact early in the match by dismantling India’s top order with remarkable skill.
In a standout spell, Mahmud claimed the crucial wickets of Indian captain Rohit Sharma, followed by Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, and Rishabh Pant just after lunch. His ability to consistently challenge and remove top-order batsmen has reinforced his reputation as one of Bangladesh’s most exciting fast-bowling prospects.
Hasan Mahmud's Test career, while still in its early stages, has already shown considerable promise. Known for his pace, accuracy, and wicket-taking prowess, Mahmud made his Test debut earlier this year against Sri Lanka in Chattogram during March-April. In that match, the 24-year-old showcased his potential by generating significant pace and troubling the opposition with his front-on bowling action.
Before the India vs Bangladesh 1st Test, Mahmud’s statistics reflected his early impact in Test cricket. His debut performance set a high standard, and his current showing in this series further emphasizes his growing influence and potential in international cricket.
