Paulo Fonseca is determined to secure his first win of the season as AC Milan prepares to face Venezia, following a challenging start to their campaign. The team has struggled, earning only two points from their first three matches, leaving Fonseca under considerable pressure. With pivotal fixtures on the horizon, including a Champions League clash against Liverpool and an upcoming derby with Inter Milan, the need for a victory against Venezia is crucial.
Milan's defensive problems have been a major concern, with the team conceding six goals in their initial three games, the highest number of goals conceded by any Serie A team this season. The international break provided a valuable opportunity for Fonseca to address these defensive issues. Despite having a limited number of players available during the break, Fonseca focused on working with the defenders to improve their performance. "We didn’t have many players available during the break, but we had a good number of defenders. We concentrated on refining the behavior of the defensive line and individual defensive skills," Fonseca explained.
As AC Milan looks to turn their season around, securing a win against Venezia will be vital in boosting the team's morale and setting a positive tone for the challenging fixtures ahead.
