Jeremy Doku and Charles De Ketelaere have both withdrawn from Belgium's squad for the upcoming Nations League matches against Italy and Israel, leaving the team without two key players for these crucial fixtures. Doku, who plays for Manchester City, has been in good form this season, contributing two goals and two assists across all competitions. He has also been a standout in the Premier League, leading his team in completed dribbles with 21. However, the 22-year-old has missed Manchester City's recent match against Brighton due to injury, despite featuring in previous games against Bournemouth and Sporting CP. His absence marks a blow to Belgium's attack as they look to secure vital points in the Nations League.

Meanwhile, Atalanta's Charles De Ketelaere is also unavailable for selection due to a hamstring injury. The 22-year-old was forced off in his club's recent victory over Udinese and will be unable to play for Belgium during this international window. De Ketelaere has been an important figure for Atalanta in Serie A this season, contributing seven goal involvements. His absence leaves a significant gap in Belgium's midfield, with his creativity and playmaking abilities sorely missed.

In addition to Doku and De Ketelaere, Belgium has also lost the services of Club Brugge's Joaquin Seys, who was set to make his senior international debut but sustained a leg injury. Lyon's Malick Fofana, too, has withdrawn from the squad, adding to the team’s injury woes.

In response to these withdrawals, Belgium's head coach Domenico Tedesco has called up four new players to the squad. Juventus' Samuel Mbangula, RB Leipzig’s Arthur Vermeeren, Sevilla’s Albert Sambi Lokonga, and Anderlecht’s Killian Sardella have all received call-ups to fill the gaps. These fresh additions to the squad will look to make their mark and help Belgium overcome the challenge of Italy and Israel in the Nations League, with the team facing key fixtures in their quest for qualification.

With a series of key players absent, Belgium will now rely on the remaining squad members to step up and perform against tough opposition, as they aim to continue their strong run in the Nations League and secure a spot in next year's international competitions.
