Nacho Fernandez to Return to Real Madrid for Farewell Before Joining Saudi League
Nacho Fernandez, the former Real Madrid captain, will return to the club on July 24 to bid farewell to his teammates. The seasoned defender has decided to end his 23-year association with the club this summer, opting to leave Spanish football.
After representing Spain in their successful quest for the Euro 2024 title, Nacho recently returned to Spain and is now preparing for his next chapter. He has accepted a two-year contract with Al Qadsiah, a newly promoted team in the Saudi Pro League, attracted by a lucrative salary in the Middle East. Nacho will play in the same league as his former Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, who represents Al Nassr and captains the team. Nacho was part of the Spain squad that won Euro 2024 in Germany, playing four matches in the tournament, including a cameo appearance in the final.
Nacho's New Journey
Nacho is set to join Al Qadsiah in Saudi Arabia. Before that, the 34-year-old will receive a traditional send-off in Madrid. During his time at Real Madrid, he won four La Liga titles and six UEFA Champions League trophies. His departure marks the end of an era for both him and the club.
