Bayern's first goal came early in the 10th minute, when Pernille Harder scored a header inside the box, marking her fifth goal in just three matches.

Manchester City and Bayern Munich continued their flawless runs in the Women’s Champions League with comfortable victories, maintaining perfect records in the competition. Both teams showcased their strength on home turf, securing significant wins to further establish their dominance in the group stages.

Manchester City 2-0 Hammarby

Manchester City maintained their top spot in Group D with a 2-0 win over Hammarby, extending their perfect run to three matches. The victory followed earlier wins against St. Pölten and Barcelona, the reigning 2023-24 champions, and kept them unbeaten across all competitions since their opening draw with Arsenal in the Women’s Super League. The match, however, was a tale of two halves.

The first half saw little action in terms of scoring chances, with both teams struggling to break the deadlock. However, City wasted no time after the break, with Laura Blinkilde Brown giving them the lead just two minutes into the second half. The goal came after Aoba Fujino’s shot struck the post, allowing Brown to capitalize on the rebound.

Khadija Shaw nearly doubled the lead in the 67th minute, but her goal was ruled out for offside, keeping Hammarby within reach. Fujino, however, secured the win in the 79th minute, scoring City’s second goal and sealing all three points. This marked the first-ever encounter between these teams in the competition, and City made their superiority clear, dominating possession with 62% and registering an expected goals (xG) total of 2.75 from 16 shots. Despite only three of those shots being on target, their control of the match and overall attacking play highlighted their deserving victory.

Bayern Munich 3-0 Valerenga

Bayern Munich also impressed in their 3-0 victory over Valerenga, securing all three points in dominant fashion. The match saw Valerenga struggle to make any significant impact, while Bayern capitalized on their superior possession and clinical finishing. Bayern's first goal came early in the 10th minute, when Pernille Harder scored a header inside the box, marking her fifth goal in just three matches.

Giulia Gwinn doubled Bayern’s lead in the 17th minute, converting a penalty after Elise Thorsnes fouled Weronika Zawistowska. From there, Bayern continued to dictate the pace of the game, controlling 76% of possession compared to Valerenga's 24%. Bayern also outshot their opponents 15 to 7, finishing with a higher xG of 1.95 to 0.47, further underlining their dominance throughout the match.

In stoppage time, Bayern added a third goal when Sarah Zadrazil scored with a stunning volley past Valerenga goalkeeper Tove Enblom. The goal capped off an impressive performance, with Bayern securing a comprehensive win and reinforcing their place at the top of their group.

Both Manchester City and Bayern Munich showed why they are among the elite in women’s football, with clinical performances that put them in a strong position as the group stage continues. With high possession stats, superior finishing, and control of the match, both teams are setting the pace in this season’s Women’s Champions League.
