Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) clinched a dramatic 1-0 victory over AS Monaco in the French Super Cup, thanks to a last-minute goal by Ousmane Dembele. The win marked PSG's 13th French Super Cup title, solidifying their position as the most successful club in the history of the competition. This triumph also extended their streak to three consecutive Super Cup victories, a testament to their dominance in French football.

The match was held at Stadium 974 in Doha, where both teams had their moments, but it was PSG who looked more dangerous throughout. Despite failing to find the back of the net for much of the match, PSG controlled possession and were constantly on the offensive, racking up 27 shots with nine of them on target. Monaco, on the other hand, struggled to convert their opportunities, managing only a handful of shots, and couldn't break PSG's resilient defense.

The game saw several chances for both teams. Early in the match, Monaco came close to scoring when Desire Doue’s header hit the crossbar in the ninth minute. PSG responded with a long-range shot from Lee Kang-In that tested Monaco's goalkeeper Philipp Kohn. The first half saw the teams exchange attacking opportunities, but neither could capitalize on their chances.

Monaco did have a few good chances later in the match, with Maghnes Akliouche and Takumi Minamino both testing PSG's Gianluigi Donnarumma. However, PSG's defense, led by the likes of Marquinhos and Sergio Ramos, kept Monaco at bay. As the match seemed headed toward a draw, PSG’s Fabian Ruiz delivered a pinpoint pass across the goal in stoppage time, which Dembele expertly finished into the far post, securing the win for PSG in the dying moments.

PSG’s victory in the Super Cup was a culmination of their impressive season, having already claimed the Ligue 1 title and the Coupe de France, marking an 11th league and cup double in 12 years. Despite Monaco finishing second in Ligue 1, they couldn’t match PSG’s firepower and were unable to end the capital club's stranglehold on French football.

Looking forward, PSG will focus on continuing their strong start to the season when they host St Etienne in their upcoming Ligue 1 fixture. Meanwhile, Monaco will travel to Nantes, hoping to bounce back and build momentum in the league. As the season progresses, PSG's ability to perform under pressure and secure crucial victories, especially in high-stakes matches like the Super Cup, will be key to their continued success in domestic and international competitions. Their win against Monaco not only added another trophy to their collection but further reinforced their status as the dominant force in French football.
