The New York Knicks continued their impressive form with a dominant 138-122 victory over the Phoenix Suns, marking their fourth consecutive win. Jalen Brunson was the standout performer for the Knicks, scoring 36 points and playing a pivotal role in the team's success. Karl-Anthony Towns also contributed significantly with 34 points, showcasing his scoring ability and presence on the floor. It wasn’t just Brunson and Towns carrying the load, though. All five Knicks starters finished in double digits, with Josh Hart adding a well-rounded performance of 19 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists.
From the very beginning of the game, the Knicks were in control. They started red-hot, making their first eight shots, and built a commanding 44-28 lead by the end of the first quarter. By halftime, the Knicks had extended their advantage to 76-58. Brunson was exceptional in the first half, scoring 23 points, including four three-pointers, while shooting almost flawlessly. His performance helped the Knicks to shoot at a remarkable 78.3% in the first quarter and 72.7% from beyond the arc.
The Suns, already dealing with the absence of Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal due to injuries, were left to rely heavily on Devin Booker. Booker did his best, finishing with 33 points on 12-for-23 shooting, but it wasn’t enough to keep the Suns competitive in this high-scoring affair. Jusuf Nurkic added a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, but without their key stars, the Suns couldn’t keep pace with the Knicks’ offensive onslaught. The loss marked their fifth straight defeat.
In another matchup, the Houston Rockets secured a 130-113 victory over the Indiana Pacers, thanks to a standout performance from Alperen Sengun. Sengun posted a season-high 31 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, leading the Rockets to their sixth win in seven games. Houston took control in the third quarter, pulling away with a significant run that ultimately sealed the game. Jabari Smith Jr. also contributed with another strong performance, continuing his solid play for the Rockets.
For the Pacers, Quenton Jackson impressed with a career-high 24 points, showing off his scoring ability. However, despite a strong first half from Pascal Siakam, who dropped 19 points in the first two quarters, he was limited to just two more points for the remainder of the game. The Pacers made a brief push in the third quarter, highlighted by a dunk from Myles Turner, but the Rockets responded with a decisive run to put the game out of reach.
Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks were propelled to victory by Giannis Antetokounmpo, who put on an extraordinary performance, scoring 41 points, grabbing nine rebounds, and dishing out eight assists. Brook Lopez also provided crucial support with his steady scoring. The Bucks jumped out to an 18-point lead, and though the Chicago Bulls mounted a comeback in the third quarter, Antetokounmpo took over in the second half, scoring the majority of Milwaukee's points in the third quarter to help re-establish their lead and secure the win.
