Haryana Steelers, under the leadership of head coach Manpreet Singh and captain Jaideep Dahiya, are determined to build on their strong start in Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 11, as they aim to continue their momentum into the Noida leg of the tournament. The team kicked off the season in Hyderabad with an impressive performance, securing five wins out of their first seven matches. Having finished as runners-up in the previous season, expectations were high for the JSW Sports-owned franchise, especially after making several changes to their squad during the auctions earlier in the year.
The Steelers have displayed a well-rounded and resilient approach, particularly in their defensive strategies, which have been critical in helping them secure thrilling victories in tightly contested matches. With Manpreet Singh at the helm, the team has exhibited a tactical game plan that is both solid in defense and capable of striking at crucial moments. As a result, Haryana finished the Hyderabad leg in fourth place and then followed up with a commanding 39-23 victory over Gujarat Giants on November 10, pushing them up to third place in the standings with 26 points from 7 games.
Key players have emerged during this run, with Iranian all-rounder Mohammadreza Shadloui standing out as one of the team’s stars. Shadloui has been exceptional, contributing 18 raid points and 22 tackle points over the course of the seven matches. In the raiding department, Shivam Patare has also made a significant impact, earning 31 raid points and showcasing his skills on the mat.
Coach Manpreet Singh spoke positively about the team’s performance, acknowledging that while there is always room for improvement, they are steadily progressing. He stated, “Every team has areas where improvements are needed. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly where we need to rectify our errors, but the entire season will depend on fixing them. We are working towards it.” He also noted that the team is more in control now, with a winning combination of players that has helped them succeed.
Captain Jaideep Dahiya shared his optimism about the team’s preparation and their readiness for the challenges ahead. “We have a strong team, and we have shown that we are well-prepared for the season. Our efforts now will be to win all the games and climb to the top position in the table,” he said.
With the Noida leg underway, Haryana Steelers are poised to continue their pursuit of excellence and challenge for a top spot in the league. The team’s strong start and positive momentum are crucial as they aim to build on their previous successes and ultimately secure a spot in the playoffs. With their current form and determination, the Steelers are certainly a team to watch as they move forward in PKL Season 11.
