By embedding pickleball within educational institutions, the IPA aims to create a sustainable pipeline of players, coaches, and officials.

The Indian Pickleball Association (IPA) has officially announced its Mission Statement 2026, marking a significant step toward strengthening the sport’s ecosystem in the country. The initiative reflects the federation’s ambition to make pickleball accessible, structured, and competitive at all levels, with a strong emphasis on grassroots development.

IPA President Suryaveer Singh Bhullar stated that the federation has taken a proactive approach to institutionalising pickleball across India. Central to this vision is the integration of the sport into school and university programmes, ensuring early exposure and systematic development among young athletes. By embedding pickleball within educational institutions, the IPA aims to create a sustainable pipeline of players, coaches, and officials.

Bhullar highlighted that the federation intends to leverage its status as a National Sports Federation to formally introduce pickleball into the school games curriculum. This move is expected to provide legitimacy to the sport while offering students structured training, competitions, and progression pathways. According to IPA officials, early inclusion in schools will help nurture talent and raise awareness about the sport at a national level.

Mission Statement 2026 also focuses on standardising coaching methodologies and officiating systems. The federation plans to implement certification programmes for coaches and referees to ensure uniform standards across states. These measures are aimed at improving the quality of training and competition while aligning Indian pickleball with international best practices.

Another key pillar of the mission is the expansion of competitive opportunities. The IPA aims to organise regular district, state, and national-level tournaments, creating clear pathways for athletes to progress to elite competition. The federation also plans to strengthen talent identification systems to ensure promising players receive appropriate exposure and support.

Infrastructure development forms an important part of the long-term vision. IPA officials have indicated that partnerships with educational institutions, local bodies, and private stakeholders will be explored to increase access to courts and training facilities. The federation believes that improving infrastructure is essential for the sport’s growth, particularly in emerging regions.

The mission also underscores India’s aspirations on the international stage. With pickleball gaining global popularity, the IPA aims to prepare Indian athletes to compete at major international events. Structured training, exposure tours, and international collaborations are expected to play a key role in achieving this objective.

By outlining clear goals and timelines, Mission Statement 2026 positions pickleball as a sport with long-term potential in India’s sporting landscape. The IPA leadership has expressed confidence that with grassroots integration, institutional support, and consistent competition, pickleball can achieve widespread participation and international success in the coming years.

These measures are aimed at improving the quality of training and competition while aligning Indian pickleball with international best practices.
