In a sharp rebuttal to allegations raised by fellow wrestler Sakshi Malik, Vinesh Phogat has firmly defended her role in the ongoing wrestlers' protest. Malik had accused some of the protesting wrestlers of acting with selfish motives, but Phogat, taking to social media, declared that she would "carry this greed till death." Her statement comes in response to the growing tension within the wrestling community as it fights for accountability and transparency regarding allegations of misconduct in the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI).

Phogat, one of India's most accomplished wrestlers, has been at the forefront of the protest alongside Bajrang Punia and other prominent figures. The movement, initially focused on demanding justice for young female wrestlers who have accused WFI officials of harassment, has now seen internal divisions, with Malik's remarks adding fuel to the fire. Phogat, however, dismissed Malik's charges, stating that her 'greed' was not for personal gain but for ensuring justice and betterment for future generations of athletes.

The protest has garnered significant national attention and support, with many calling for swift action against the alleged wrongdoings within the federation. Phogat, who has been vocal about the need for change, reinforced her commitment to seeing the protest through, despite the emerging differences among its participants.

She also emphasized that the movement is far bigger than personal disagreements and that such distractions would not derail their fight for justice. Phogat’s firm stance highlights her dedication to the cause, as the wrestlers continue to seek reforms in Indian wrestling governance, alongside accountability for those accused of misconduct.

Phogat, however, dismissed Malik's charges, stating that her 'greed' was not for personal gain but for ensuring justice and betterment for future generations of athletes.
