ASUS, the Taiwanese technology giant, has officially announced the global launch of its highly anticipated ROG Phone 9 series, scheduled for November 19, 2024, at 7 PM in Taipei, 12 PM in Berlin, and 6 AM in New York. This series follows the ROG Phone 8 lineup, which included the ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro, unveiled earlier this year in January.
The ROG Phone 9 series is expected to consist of two models: the ROG Phone 9 and ROG Phone 9 Pro. Both devices are anticipated to share similar design elements and specifications. The teaser video released by ASUS confirms that the ROG Phone 9 series will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, equipped with advanced AI capabilities for enhanced gaming performance.
In terms of design, the ROG Phone 9 bears a resemblance to its predecessor, showcasing a gaming-themed aesthetic with LED lights on the rear. The camera module is uniquely square-shaped, housing three sensors along with an LED flash. The rear panel features the ROG branding and taglines such as “-DARE TO PLAY-,” complementing its gaming-centric design.
The phone is expected to have a flat display with slim bezels and a slightly thicker chin, along with a centrally-aligned punch-hole selfie camera. The volume rocker and power button are positioned on the right side, while the side panels are rounded, differing from the flat panels seen on many recent smartphones. Antenna lines can also be observed along the sides of the device.
Besides its powerful processor and AI features, the ROG Phone 9 series is touted to offer improved battery efficiency. The previous ROG Phone 8 Pro was noted for its extended battery life, and there are high expectations for even better performance in the upcoming models.
As the launch date approaches, more updates regarding the specifications, pricing, and availability of the ROG Phone 9 series are expected. Stay tuned for further information as we await this exciting release.
