ASUS is gearing up to officially launch the ROG Phone 9 series—featuring both the ROG Phone 9 and ROG Phone 9 Pro—on November 19, 2024. The brand recently confirmed that the standard ROG Phone 9 model will also come with the AniMe Vision feature, an LED light matrix display on the rear, which was previously exclusive to the Pro models. This AniMe Vision display brings added customization, enabling users to unlock special animations that enhance the visual gaming experience.
In addition to AniMe Vision, ASUS has teased several impressive specifications for the ROG Phone 9 series. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, the phone is built to deliver high performance. The ROG Phone 9 is expected to include a 6.78″ FHD+ Samsung Flexible AMOLED display with LTPO technology, supporting a 185Hz refresh rate for smoother gameplay. Enhanced cooling, a substantial 24GB LPDDR5x RAM, and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage also underscore its gaming and multitasking capabilities.
For photography, the ROG Phone 9 is expected to offer a 50MP primary camera and a 32MP front camera. Battery life should be strong with a 5800 mAh capacity, supported by 65W wired fast charging. The device is likely to run on Android 15 with ASUS’s ROG UI overlay, promising a retro gaming experience, as well as water and dust resistance (IP68 rating).
As the November launch date approaches, more details about pricing and availability are anticipated.
