iOS 18 has officially rolled out to iPhone users worldwide, bringing a range of new features and improvements. Among the notable additions are Rich Communication Services (RCS) Messaging and T9 Dialling.
RCS Messaging, which Apple has integrated into the Messages app, marks a significant shift from traditional SMS. This feature, long advocated by Google and supported by the GSM Association, offers end-to-end encryption, high-resolution media sharing, Wi-Fi messaging, and read receipts when communicating with non-Apple devices.
In addition, iOS 18 introduces T9 Dialling in the Phone app. This new functionality allows users to quickly dial numbers by typing the recipient's name on the keypad, similar to the feature found on older mobile phones. This enhancement is expected to streamline the dialing process, making it faster and more intuitive.
These updates reflect Apple's ongoing efforts to improve user experience by incorporating features that were previously more common in Android environments.
