The iPhone 16 series was officially unveiled during Apple's “Its Glowtime” event at Apple Park on September 9. While Apple highlighted various hardware and software advancements, including its new suite of artificial intelligence features called Apple Intelligence, one notable upgrade not explicitly advertised is the improved charging speed.
According to a certification from the China Quality Certification Centre, shared by tipster ShrimpApplePro on X (formerly Twitter), the iPhone 16 series will support up to 45W wired fast charging via USB Type-C. The certification indicates that the new iPhones are tested to operate at 5-15 volts and 3 amps, potentially delivering a maximum charging capacity of 45W. This represents a significant leap in charging speed compared to the iPhone 15 series, offering users a much quicker way to power up their devices.
