iQOO Z10 Review: Balancing Power, Battery, and Value in the Mid-Range Segment

iQOO continues its streak in the mid-range smartphone category with the launch of the iQOO Z10. Positioned as a budget-friendly device with an emphasis on battery life and daily performance, the Z10 is aimed at users who prioritize speed, long-lasting usage, and reliable multitasking.

Design and Build:

The iQOO Z10 sports a clean and modern design with a polycarbonate back and a matte finish that resists fingerprints. It’s lightweight and comfortable to hold, and the button placement is intuitive. Although it doesn't feature premium materials like glass or metal, the build quality feels sturdy and appropriate for its price segment.

Display:

The smartphone is equipped with a 6.67-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The high refresh rate ensures smooth scrolling and a responsive touch experience. While it lacks AMOLED-level contrast and deeper blacks, the panel offers good brightness levels and vibrant colors suitable for streaming, browsing, and gaming.

Performance:

Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, the iQOO Z10 handles multitasking, app switching, and casual gaming without hiccups. Paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage, the phone offers a smooth user experience. Games like BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile run at moderate settings with minimal frame drops.

Software:

The Z10 runs on Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14. The interface is user-friendly, and while it comes with some pre-installed apps, most can be uninstalled. Regular updates from iQOO are expected, though the brand hasn't made strong promises about long-term software support.

Camera:

On the rear, the phone features a dual-camera setup: a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. Daylight shots are decent with good color accuracy and detail. Low-light performance is average, with some visible noise. The 8MP front camera is suitable for selfies and video calls but doesn’t stand out in portrait clarity or sharpness.

Battery Life:

Battery life is where the iQOO Z10 shines. With a 5000mAh battery and efficient software optimization, the phone can easily last a full day and more with moderate use. It supports 44W fast charging, which juices up the phone from 0 to 50 percent in under 30 minutes.

Verdict:

The iQOO Z10 is a reliable choice for users looking for solid performance and excellent battery life in the sub-Rs 15,000 segment. While the camera performance and display panel may not be class-leading, the device delivers well where it matters most — speed, longevity, and daily usability.

Although it doesn't feature premium materials like glass or metal, the build quality feels sturdy and appropriate for its price segment.
